Stop Press Part 2

Well I guess great minds think alike \'cos I\'ve just spent most of today in the Bolton Shop working with the Manager trying to get the same thing up and running.

Both The Bolton manager (Brian), his staff and the Cell manager are really interested and are doing their utmost to help out.
Whether this is in the form of an Army Deal for the Ogre Kingdoms or not is a different matter, but there will be something coming together.

So far everyone spoken to (Quite a Few !) are highly enthusiastic about this and are desparately keen to support us.

Thought you\'d like to know.

I hope I\'m not too late; I just saw this post this morning and have been reading it for about 45 minutes to make sure i didn\'t miss anything. Here is my info:

James Fant
1356/2596
I have done a couple of commissions but have never entered into a contest except this last cmon one.

That is really good news about Games Workshop maybe helping out. As for me, I would be willing to paint 5-10 unit guys (You wanted the best to paint the elites i think) but I am fairly flexible.

@Tammy : Very good initiatif, I was going to ask about the same thing to the GW French Events Manager on Monday, but your phrasing seems more professional ;). Should I still call on Monday (they\'re expecting it)? I think I should, at least to let them know that this might finally be covered by GW UK. Maybe they could get our stores organized so that we just have to stop by to get the minis.

@Nymphomaniac : join in before Wednesday, so your in ;).

@Mantis : thanks a lot. I think we should first see what GW HQ has to offer ;).

@Dragonsreach : great news :D

@james9487 : welcome aboard :)

@Becca : how many are we now?

I only sent an email to the Uk and USA people, not the french, so feel free to harrass them from your side too. Remember, I only sent an email, there\'s no confirmation GW UK or USA will want to get involved at all.

Okee, here goes my info :D

My name is Birkir Ellertsson, I\'m from Iceland, and will be 15 at the end of march. I\'ve been painting for some 2 years maybe, I only really jumped in in the last one year. In local competitions I have gotten 4th and 2nd places, and I organized on competition here. I got 3rd place in a dakkadakka.com competition too:D I\'m somewhere around 750 in the rankings I think(just check my sig) and I think I can do an 8 mini if I really try. I\'m very willing to paint 2 or 3 minis, even more. I just want to say I really think all the plans we have now sound very nice, the colorschemes, going to GW with this and all.

singing \"we are the world....we are the children\'

My real name is Jim Gilstrap I live in Iowa, United States, have been painting for 15+ years.

No trophies, no awards, but once my daughter said a painted mini of mine was \'pretty cool\'...lol

My current ranking is listed in my sig.

In the spirit of making the most money possible, I will gladly step aside and let a better painter fill my slot.

i think maybe we should have a cap on people painting like at 30

that gives 5 more slots to people who still want to join, (ahem, people who havent yet) but wont let us get out of control.

what do you think?:D

I\'d like to help out, but I\'m not sure I\'m at a high enough level.

One question, when\'s this going to be happening? I\'ll be off on my snowboarding holiday from Jan 29th to Feb 5th.

Details.
Name: Rab Robertson.
Years painting: 17 or so.
CMON Rank: 1382
Competitions: None

Cheers - Rab.

I just heard about this from Brian- the manager of the Bolton store, who Mike was referring to.

I would be more than willing to help in any way I can, especially in the painting area. Due to school commitments, I would only be able to paint a couple of models.

If there is anything you need, in terms of models or donations for the army deal, again I will be willing to help.

Advertising will be a major factor. My site, the C\'tan Support Group, can aid in this and get the message across.

If you want any models donating just ask- I have just got three Ogres and have a few Gnoblars for my own painting.

It would be an honour to be able to help, especially with a caring bunch of people such as yourselves.

Thank you.

@ Green stuff- My name is Kyle Soo. I am 16 and have been painting for just over 3 years.

I have one various competitions within this time period, notably, accolades in the past two Conflict regional tournaments in manchester- winning best diorama and best army in 2003 and best 40K and LOTR miniature in 2004.

I have won various other painting competitions, one at Warhammer World in Nottingham and in my local Games Workshop.

More recently, I got through the first round of the Golden Demon with both of my enteries in the 40K and LOTR single catagories. In addition, my LOTR entry, Gil-Galad featured on the UK GW website.

My current CMON rank can be seen below.

I have not worked in the miniature industry, although I have painted somethings for my local GW, but nothing commercial.

Again, thank you.

Hope we make a lot.

I have only been off line for a couple of hours I cannot believe how fast this is rolling.
I am looking forward to and feel very honoured to be a part of this. I only hope that my ability is up to the task.

Please count me in.

My name is Claire Carbonneau, I\'ve been painting minis for the last 20 years. I won a couple of contests at Genghis Con, Tacticon in Colorado and more recently (since we\'re back in Canada) at Cangames. My preferences are in furry creatures. :D

Then if we are going for the ogres, I will be verry happy with the Yetis. And if another army is picked, then anything goes.

Congratulations for this great idea!

Name - Jasper Brancart (jappobra)
Age - 17
Years Painting - about 3 now
CMON Rank - I will take pictures tommorw(i think it will be around 800th place opr something)
Trophies - I won som local contests, some best army awards

I volunteer for painting the trappers(I love painting green skins). And I\'ll ask a friend of mine to build a army list wich features all the cool OK models and still is pretty effective.

And what about the manhunters, they are like characters themselves. So I guess they should be painted by the better painters even though they are just a unit.

There are a couple of Veteran Maneaters that are only available through mailorder that would bump up the value of this army a bit.
The trouble is that they are not out yet but when they are if there is time I would be happy to get them from GWHQ as you can get them there and then then if somebody wants to paint them I will happily send them on.
