Sounds good, I like glazing so I'll probably go that way. Question is... once that is blended, how do you add the highlights for the light hitting the model?

If you do a light drybrush of the original colour between glazes, reducing the area you drybrush towards the top of the snake each layer should give you the desired effect

Friday and Spigot are finally complete and photographed. Here's how they turned out...

You can find more shots of them in my gallery.
Spigot
Friday

They still have a bit of a sheen on in these photos. I'm not sure if that's because they need another hit of flat coat or because I set their lights wrong... I'm pretty new to this sort of photography.
I'm a lot happier with Spigot than Friday. She has just come out a little lack luster with a few messy points. I'm fairly chuffed with Spigot's face (aside from the eyes) and brooch in particular, I think they're a step up for me.

Another win that came out of these minis is neatness. I've done far less cleaning of stray colours here than I normally do... I hope that means my brush skills are improving.

Anyway. Ratings and comments in the gallery are always appreciated and I love getting any feedback on the minis, particularly on things that I can improve in the future.

Lastly, here is my Brewers team to date. It is now officially fully playable. :)

Aah now that is a better pic of Spigot's brooch than the cellphone snap you sent. Definitely very nice brush work there Bev.

Voted on the new additions.

Thanks for all the votes and comments everyone. I really appreciate them. As you all know, mini painting takes a lot of time and energy, so it's great when your work is well received.

...

And now onto the next one. :)

I've done some initial blending on Coin and am broadly happy with the result. It doesn't quite match the coral snake colouring that I was aiming for but I'm not too worried about that.
I have tried to pick out the individual scales but I think I need to make them more distinct before moving on the the patterns. Speaking of pattern, I'm reconsidering the puff adder that I was originally intending. Looking at it again, the pattern isn't very distinct and I'm worried that it might end up looking messy. I'm currently tossing up between using horizontal stripes like the coral snake or a diamond pattern of some sort. Either way, I'm going to paint the main pattern in black (dark grey/blue) and give it a thin white border between the black and orange... then comes the question of shading o_O

I'm also tossing up what colour to paint the eyes. I'd like it to be a complimentary colour to the red-orange but am a little worried about what blue/cyan eyes will look like on a snake. Thoughts?

As always, and comments or suggestions are appreciated.

Really great work on that brewers team, you can be proud of them, now you can even play with a full painted team and become the envy of your playing group!! ;)
The points scored by a full painted team should count by two.
Oh and good start on the snake!
