that claw just makes me warm and moist, I think a banner would look cool but I wonder due to the size if it would look excessive?

It's just... wow. Simply, Wow!
The only thing I react to is the lack of decorations and stuff on his shoulders, they seem a bit empty to me.

That claw design is a success. Now appears to have the potential to deliver a nasty mix of crush/slash/piercing damage.

That banner and wolf pelt, thought about combining the two? Maybe a banner design painted on the scraped pelt.

That is a really good idea. I may give it a whirl if I can figure it out!

It could very well put him over the top. Of course this army is probably going to be so far over the top when I piece it all together that an excessively over the top mini may be the perfect HQ. :)

Thanks! I'm still debating whether to sculpt any detail on some of the flat surfaces, use etched brass designs ... or simply freehand something appropriate. I'm still not sure which way would yield the best result although at the moment I am favoring freehanding something as I am still taking my first steps into sculpting. ;-)

Hello all!

After a fall tourney and a series of weekly infinity games I've managed to rope in my adult ADD for the moment and have been making some progress on the wolves! Here are a couple of new pups added to the wolf guard:

And for the next item, I can not thank Meph enough for the following comment about my first (failed) attempt at Termie legs:

QUOTE=Meph;550840]Looking good although I'd make sure to keep the crotch of the termy at the same height as the 'true-scaled' marine. The terminator's are just supposed to have bulkier armour, not be a scale bigger on the giant scale. Right now it looks as if the termy legs are way taller than the legs of your normal true-scaled marines but if you'd keep the crotch and head at the same heights as your normal marines and model the terminator armour around those reference points, you'd end up with a far better model. (ref pic on post #98)[/QUOTE]

After going back to the drawing board I see his point and where I went wrong. AFter drawing out some new schematics for a truescale termie and spending a couple of weeks working on the actual design here is the newly updated set of legs...

And here is a comparison shot to another new wolf guard with a BP & Hammer CCW.

The basic process for this method is hideously long. I modified a set of termie legs as if I was going to make a regular truescale marine and then recreated all of the termie details on top of these new legs. Actually the only part of the original legs that still shows is the back of the boots...

All in all I'm thinking it will take about 10-12 hours of total work per set of legs. (Plus it takes 7-10 days to create a set as I allow 10-12 hours of drying time in between each mod!)

Overall I am a lot happier with the current direction the termie is moving in and will be modifying the upper body ever so slightly to match the new bulk of the lower legs! Then its time to take a look at the arms. I'll need to bulk them up slightly so that they don't look the same as my regular marine arms but I'm hoping to not have too many nods on the upper body!

Any C&C is always welcome... Cheers!

Some new progress shots of the Truescale Termie...
(Everything is tacked into place so it may look a little off)

There is still a lot of detailing to finish but this is a pretty good mock up. Any thoughts or C&C are always much appreciated!
Cheers!

Looking great! Really digging the pre heresy Pauldrons on this thing. Kina fits in with Terminator armour being old and venerable relics I always thought.

I gotta say, that dreadnought is F*CKING AWESOME! i love it, please do it justice when painting it, or have it pro painted if you dont think your up to it, it needs a demon quality paint job bare minimum. Again, AWESOME, be sure to give it a kickbutt base as well.

I just checked back in on this after... jeez... I don't even know how long and I find that you've practically finished the dreadnought, and it looks way freaking awesome, and now you've got a terminator, not to mention some pretty sweet Long Fangs. Way to go.

All I've got to show for the past couple months is a job, a new apartment with my girlfriend, and another semester of college started up. I need to get my priorities straight 0.o

Hi everybody!

Thanks for the feedback! After 8 months the project is still rolling along!!!

I'd love to see that termie next to your basic guardsman for scale purposes. Great work!

I have a few scale comparison shots today. Especially since my progress has been sidetracked by Infinity! :)

Here's the proto termie with an Eldar Guardian!

and with a guardsman...

and for giggles a Guardsman next to the Dread! :p

and here's a progress shot of the army so far to prove that there are 30 guys converted and ready...

Maybe I'll get refocused by Christmas. :)

I'll be lavishing some serious love on him when the time comes. ;-)

Thanks for the note! You've been doing some very important things... they're just not as much fun. Hope you get a chance to send me some more inspiration soon! :)

Lol! Naturally nothing comes between a man and the love of his wolves! This is really inspirational stuff, I really cannot wait to see it all painted up! An awesome paint job on these bad boys will make for an incredible looking force for sure!
