Quick update. These guys have thickened chests and finished belts now.

and I extended the fur pelt to cover some ugly thigh joins!

My lunging figure is coming along pretty good and should join the wolf guard in the next day or so. The long fangs squad should be ready for action by Monday! I hope!!! I forgot how long it takes to alter the shoulder pads!!! :snicker:

More Wolves at the Door!!!

:D Made a lot of progress today! Too much free time will do that...
Here is the current state of the "lunging" wolf. I'm still not sure where to go with him next...

As you can see the profile is a bit 'thin' ... I'm needing some inspiration!!
A couple more long fangs have joined the pack so I'm half way finished with them. I decided to make special use of the articulated arms on the new missle launcher back packs... let me know what you think!

Long Fang #2

And my favorite Long Fang thus far #3...

Any thoughts are welcome! Long Fangs 4-6 are well under way and should be finished in a day or so... :D

have you considered doing press moulds of the major bits of armour, ie different leg sections, chest etc? i know someone who does lots of conversions like this and it saves time and money buying terminator bits and the filing them down

http://www.coolminiornot.com/article/aid/739

I have thought of molding some pieces to save time, but I don't have any experience with the process. Thanks for the link, I may have to try it out!!! If nothing else I hate altering the shoulder pads and backpacks.... :)

Thanks mate! They are a labor of love. Although I am NOT looking forward to altering the vehicles. ;-)

Honestly, for that first guy, I would put one leg forward so it doesn't look like someone pushed him over.

Thanks for the tip! I couldn't put my finger on why he looked weird. I have reworked him a little and will post new pics below.

Here are some more new pics!

Long Fang#4

and #5

And of course their faithful pack leader!

#5's robotic arm picking the missle out of the pack was a real pain to do...

Any thoughts or ideas would be welcome. I'm off to look for inspiration! :)

Did you steal the double lightning claws idea right from my head? That was the last wolf I made in April I believe, I haven't posted him but he's been made. I made him as my lone wolf, it seemed an appropriate pose and choice of weaponry. I used the two wolf claws from the Space Wolf Pack box. I don't have a picture but he's definitely one of my favorites that I've done. I gave him seven or eight (I dont remember off the top of my head) wolf tails to represent the dead members of his pack.

Blame the warp! I've been sketching out some Thousand Sons ideas for an adversary army and my exposure to the arcane may have allowed me to inadvertantly channel some of your ideas! :)

I do love the wolf tail idea... I'll be 'borrowing' that one the old fashioned way.. :)

Damnable immaterium. At least it gave you one of my GOOD ideas... Feel free to the wolf tail idea, another of my better ones.

Well I don't want everyone to think that I'm just lounging around taking it easy. :)

So here are some new WIP shots of the truescale wolf madness!

A new Long Fang test mini in progress... on to the big guns!

A 10th Grey Hunter to round out my first squad. I'm going to have to thicken up his waist after looking at the pic! :-(

and my personal favorite out of the current batch. A new inductee into the Wolf Guard with a Frost Axe!

and one scale shot of Mr Axe with one of my original Wolves from the late 90's! ;)

It's always important to keep scale in mind with these guys! :)

The biggest change I've made is that I've adopted doghouse's method of thickening the regular marine arms instead of always using termie arms. This saves $ and provides access to a lot of new options!

Bad ass..... just as they should be :-}

The way the Emperor intended! :glasses-nerdy:

After doing a couple squads of truescale, my regular marines just look wrong on so many levels! Now I'm cursed to want big marines forevermore! :messed:

Here's some more wolf madness!

Long Fang with Lascannon #1 with comparison:

Long Fang with Lascannon #2

THe new arm position forced me to create a new set of cabling to attach the Lascannon to the backpack. The Green Stuff Work was fiddly!

Any thoughts or ideas are always welcome. Trying to do up 50+ individual marines is a real pain!!

New Headline - "LONG FANGS GO OLD SCHOOL" ... :in-love:

Actually I suspect the rocket launcher I dug out for this guy is older then a large portion of this forum... :)

He's tacked together at the moment as I haven't decided on a head, the position of the bolt pistol arm, or if I even like the bolt pistol arm!!! Any opinions would be much appreciated!

and just a side note.. these guys are all WIP until painted. Most of them aren't glued when pictured and I'm constantly tweaking things until the bitter end. It's a curse! :messed:

looks great as usual, and I applaud you for the old skool rocket launcha. The only one I am not a fan of as it looks off, is the guy with the axe over his right shoulder. The arm on a whole looks off completely.

This Tru Scale stuff is awesome!

Why doesn't GW put out 'True Scale'? It seems they could maximize some profit margins with that!

Probably because they don't want to annoy the wider marine player community. There are way too many armies running around to risk the sales fiasco a rescaling of this magnitude 'could' cause! :)

I repositioned the arm a little to allow the axe to rest on the shoulder pad directly and moved the arm up and forward a little (last pic below). I think it looks a bit better but it's a tough arm position to pull off convincingly! :)

and here's a quick WIP of my first attempt at a termie. It may be a bust, but I'm learning a good bit as I go along. The other 2 models are included for size reference. Plus the Wolf Guard in the middle has had an arm adjustment on the axe side! :)

...any thoughts and/or ideas are very welcome!
