I am just posting to bump this waiting for an update... I found this a while ago just before you started the dread, but I lost the bookmark when my old computer died, I stumbled across it a few weeks ago and decided to make an account so I could post on it.. hope for an update soon!

Sorry for the insanely long delay in updates! I lost a close family member which sidelined me for over 6 months!!! I can't believe how much time has passed since I visited the forums! :-(

On a more pleasant note... I got the energy to fire the project back up last month to tweak the army list for a tournament I attended last weekend. There is now a second unit of Grey Hunters with plasma guns. And I'm laying the groundwork for Fenrisian Wolves. (I'm using the new GW Thunderwolves to fill out a unit of 15 for Harlald's Great Company.)

I've also scrapped my first effort at Harald and have started the concept art to make a proper lord on thunderwolf model for him. Animals are tough!

I am able to report that the boys have been to 3 tournies (2 in Sept-Oct 2011 and 1 last weekend)... their record is only 3W-1L-5D but they beat out some tough competition to score players choice on their first outing (my favorite award to win!) and best appearance at the last 2! This makes me a very happy puppy!

I will get some new progress pics up soon!

Well, how about a regular Space Wolf Space Marine next to one of your true scale Space Wolf Squads and a regular SW Termi next to one of your true scale Termi? I would like a photo of your entire true scale army with the same two regular minis in front to show how awesome your army must look when you plop those bad boys down on the table! Thanks.

Cool minis! Stay Frosty.

Call Kate Beckinsdale or Scarlett Johansson and ask for them to pose & lie down for a comparison with their respective belly buttons.

And... pics or it didn't happen!

Yeah! That would be pretty darn sexy! You could even put the minis on Scarlett's peaks... Or maybe Kate's lovely bottom! Oh yeah, that would be nice. (said as I look around for my very pregnant wife, she wouldn't understand the significance of these photos for the world of miniatures) Just remember, any sufficiently attractive hot chick will do.

Get cracking you! And, stay frosty.

Sorry gents, the ladies are proving to be rather unresponsive to any new photo opportunities!

Well, I finally found the camera after way too long searching... can't believe it! Here are a couple quick shots of a partilally painted Grey Hunter from pack#2 alongside one of the modified (Thunder) Fenrisian Wolves...

Since I steped away from the hobby for an extended period I am having to warm back up a bit. Here is the current army list...

Completely Finished:
1 Grimnar
2 Rune Priests
1 Lone Wolf
21 Wolf Guard (4 in Terminator Armour)
10 Grey Hunters (2 Melta, Standard)
18 Long Fangs
6 slightly modified Drop Pods

Needing Paint:
1 Dread
10 Grey Hunters (2 Plasma)
10 Upsized Fenrisian Wolves

Partly Done:
10 Skyclaws
1 Wolf Guard with Jump Pack
1 Wolf Priest with Jump Pack
1 Rhino

Should have some WIP shots in the not too distant future.

Not sure when I should cut it off but I started another batch of 10 legs for a 3rd Grey Hunter Squad... Probably not too many Truescale Armies of this size running around out there... :)

Another reason for slow progress lately is my gaming ADD struck again! I was looking at the old Eldar Jetbikes, pics of Jes Goodwins Prototype on the web, the Dark Eldar Jetbike and the Harlequins and thought... what would happen if you chop all of these perfectly good kits up and rearrange them! Such is the price for having a sick mind I guess.... :)

Here are some WIP shots of Harlequin Jetbikes for critique...

Since the Harlequins deal with all Eldar I thought it might be cool to incorporate some design elements from both Craftworld and Dark Eldar kits. Also noticed in the photos that some of the bikes are leaning a bit too far forward on the ball joints.

these 3 are mostly done, still need to rework some of the Grey Stuff and check a few alignments....

As always Comments or Critisims are welcome... :)

They look great, mind showing the underside of the bike so i can fathom the parts placement. I have been planning a similarish conversion.

Mate, really good to see you posting again. Love your work to the point that it pushed me from lurker to contributor. Good to see you back :) Oh yeah and nice to see Harlequins looking bad ass again. You old enough to have read the Rogue Trader fluff on them? I always remember them having the Harlequins Kiss weapon, not sure if they still get it.

Thanks for the note! I've missed posting updates... I am sadly old enough to remember the Rouge Trade fluff.. still have a lot of it about somewhere. Since I like the weird armies mostly these days I'm drafting a 2000 point Harlequin list. With the 6th edition allies rules you can build a very fluffy Harlequin army between the Eldar and Dark Eldar books! They can still pay for the kiss upgrade on foot and it makes all of their cc attacks rending which is pretty cool.

I have almost finished modeling the next batch of 3 bikes and gave the troupemaster a kiss upgrade for looks! :) Guess it can always 'count as' something! I'm toiling away on several items at the moment and need to focus a bit better so that I can actually try to finish something!!! :-D

Is that piano wire on the front ?

And here is the progress on the main body. Increasing the specs by 50% sure is making for a rather large dread! :)

I still need to add the rivets but I'm not sure about any other detailing at this point. Any thoughts or crtiques are welcome! It's a bit smoother than some of the pics suggest. I have had to use Green stuff to clean up some joints/corners on the plasticard.

A side view

and the Size comparison. (The engine is set in place for this shot.)

It looks more like a wire wrapped around another wire, instead of piano or guitar wire. But I guess I don't know so I'll just shush up my mouth...fingers...

It is actually guitar wire. I bought a ton of it at a closeout on the cheap. Not the easiest thing in the world to work with but it looks pretty good when you get it in place! :)

You do know Dragonforge has "guitar wire" as soft pewter so much easier to work with and still fairly inexpensive.
