Thanks guys!
Basecoated and added a few layers to other parts of the Ork Boyz today. I'm not sold on the copper coloured guns, I think that's a poor colour choice, so I'm going to switch these out to a gun metal instead, and then I'll work in some rust I think. Also the red, armour plates might be an additional colour too far on them, particularly with the yellow spot colour, but I'm going to continue with this and see how it ends up.
I'm not enjoying painting the trousers as there's a lot of flat areas to them, which when I last painted Orks like this was a real pain, so I think a lot of layers will be needed on them.
Also had a go at trying to do some better photos today, just because I'm tired of making excuses about them, and I'm thinking it's a skill I should be able to learn and get at least vaguely competent with if I put in the effort.
Things are a little rough in places, but I wanted to block in other colours at this point so I can try and get the balance right, and I can clean up later.
EDIT Oh yeah, and I drilled the holes in the guns several years ago without taking much care, so the barrel holes are mostly off centre, which really hammers my OCD whenever I see it, but oh well!
And finally a quick shot of the whole mob so far:
