Hi Shawn :D
Currently I am working on this little scene. Do you have any suggestions about it? tommorow I will try to paint the \"hobbits\", so I will be glad to know any tips\'n\'tricks :)

here is pic of scene in bright light, so the colors are more bright than in real life, but I did this photo to be more detailed:

here is darker one:

Hi Shawn,
I have blended the white and dry brushed the grey/blue, (I think I may have done a little too much so I’m going to redo some of it), and I’ve posted the pics below.

Looking forward to the next step,
SirJD

On the dark side - Dry brush it more and smoother. Add more blue to it also. DONT drybrush on the bottoms of anything. Blend the sides to black as with the white.

The blending of the white is perfect. It\'s already glowing. You\'re doing well.

Hi again,
i have finished the dry brushing and shading and it looks basically identical to the way it looks in your article, but im having trouble getting a pic which shows it. would it be possible to continue without a pic of the darker side?

WOW:eek::eek::eek: That\'s FANTASTIC. The picture exposure\'s seem different on each and it\'s hard to know which one is the most accurate......but.....what I would say as a critique is - the grass needs to shift towards orange as it nears the edge of the base like the other stuff in the scene is. I know you\'re quite along for me to say this and this is just a suggestion. The light you have is going, 99% to one side and the other. Kind of like a stripe down the middle. If you could remove a skull or two and have some rays of light go at some other angles it would help things. It wouldnt take much. Just some slivers of light here and there.... again, what you have now is REALLY good. Keep posting WIP\'s.

IF YOU POST SOMETHING AND I DONT RESPOND FOR A WHILE, BUMP THE THREAD AND PUT A REMINDER TO ME TO LOOK AT WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED. SOMETIMES (NOW) THIS THREAD CAN GET MOVING RATHER FAST AND I WILL SIMPLY MISS A POST. DONT MEAN TO BUT SOMETIMES IT JUST HAPPENS.

If it\'s not too much trouble, post some pic\'s. On the light side, I\'m going to have you do the color\'s in layers. Except for the lamp, paint all the white areas cadmium yellow medium. It\'s, at least on my monitor, the same yellow as this:cry:.

OK, I have finished (I hope) my scene.
Proudly present : Vampire hobbits :F
:D
please let me know if you have any comments, criticism is most wanted.
Also I have a question about photos - are they good enough? I mean aren\'t they too dark or something. It is very hard to make photos that won\'t destroy the effect.

Hey again Shawn,
Here are the pics after the yellow. The last three pics are the best I could get of the “dark side”, hopefully they show enough.

Looking forward to the next step

OK, so as to not to have to do and re-do alot of stuff I\'ll have you do just the hem of the coat........down at the bottom. You will need to do a progression of colors and blend them smoothly, one to the next as you did with the black and white. Going FROM the dark side toward the light - brown, burnt sienna, yellow ochre and blend the last to the yellow. Get that good and smooth on the coat trim, post wip\'s and we\'ll go from there.

will do :) just one question, what brown do i start with? scorched brown? if you could let me know what brand of paints it would help a little.

thanks in advance,
SirJD

Here\'s an example of the colorscheme I was thinking of. The main part I am relating to is the werwolf\'s shoulder and right arm. That area shows the color progression from light THRU the black inbetween (importnat to have) to the blue secoundary light source. This piece has a lighter blue than I am thinking but that\'s up to you.
