Foxtail's Ongoing Painting Journey

Thanks guys. Was, on the whole, pleased with this one.

Hairster, Maenas; I totally agree. In hindsight I would have got my act together and done a rusty industrial grating style base. The customer was after the standard GW base for him, so I did my best with that. Definitely could have done better.

Zab; The detail on this one wasn't actually as bad as it seems. Vallejo metal colour and a brown wash dealt with most of the work. Mounting everything on brass rod separately was probably the most work.
Might line the box I post the Space Wolves back in with the pelt of a baby deer, just to wind PETA up (joking obviously, I'm not a fan of fur)

Neat clean painting and kudos on finishing such a large model. I have to say the base is not to the same high standard but if that is what the customer wants that's what they get.

Wow! This guy looks amazing. I love reds and the way the cloth turned out is incredible. This is an awesome mini with so many details and it was a joy to see your progress. Keep up the awesome work my friend!

Thanks for the praise guys. Andy, don't get me wrong, even this version of the base I screwed up. It's not the customer's fault at all.

The mini's up in my gallery now

It may be because I painted it, so I'm aware of all the flaws, but I tend to give 7s to minis that use advanced techniques but have some problems. Plus, it's a middle of the road score that shouldn't muddle my average

Almost Perftec! Aw, crap.
It's a solid 8.5 or 9, very clean and crisp style. You underrate yourself :)

Cheers guys! I honestly never would have expected to make the New & Notables on the front page. I'm a little bit taken aback.

It'll give me something to focus on while I highlight 50 individual Space Wolves

Yeah, I'm hoping the heads and shoulder pads/arms will hide those. After scraping clean 60 models, I was not in the mood for filling all of their upper torsos. I'll just touch up the ones that have obvious issues towards the end.

Next steps are to touch up the blue from the shading, and decide which series I'm going to watch while doing so.

That looks exhausting to me. Do you deal with them in groups aren't you? Maybe five or so, at a time?

Paint one line. If I still have some will to live I'll do another line. Keep going until everything's done

I too am impressed by the scale of this new project. As someone who loses motivation to paint the same or similar models quickly, I'll be curious to see how you handle that and of course, to an amazing finished product!

They are progressing. Just not in a good state to photo at the moment. I've moved onto their Stormwolf flyer to give myself a break from the 60-strong force.

I've got a couple of models from the kickstarter I backed, my existing backlog, some legion praetors and Robootay Guilliman and Cypher (flogging Voldus) turning up as well. Sooner I get through these wolves the better
