Lol!
Cod Piece
ball box
jewel case
wedding veggie lid
...... all acceptable!
And yes, it made me very uncomfortable to touch it oh so lightly with the brush...... I don't like painting mini men's junk, or anything covering it, or near it.

lol, well, look on the bright side. You can paint without any detrimental effect to your self esteem as the mini's junk is most definitely mini.

Lol this is true, plus, since I am the sculptor, I know for a fact that I did't actually sculpt a twig 'n berries in the first place!

Thanks Trys. You really should finish him. Not just for our benefit :) but I found it very gratifying to know that I'm painting something that I made all by my lonesome!

Ok a little explanation.... I wasn't really all that happy with my blending and transitions on this even though some of you may disagree with that. I got to studying my reference pics/screen grabs and decided that I what I really wanted was a very used and abused set of armor. One that looked like it had rusted out and been repainted a few times. So, I decided to "experiment" a tad. :) I've used a technique in the past to give a "cast" texture to tank models before. I grabbed some plastic sheet and proceeded to practice just to see if I could adapt that technique to simulate small scale, heavily rough and pitted, repainted metal. I don't want to bore you with a step by step, especially considering that I'm not sure about how it ended up. You all may want to barf then, fall in the floor where you just puked, laughing uncontrolablly..... Sometimes I think it looks good, and others...not so much. The shiny areas are not that shiny all the time, only when the light hits them just right. Also, the some of the red looks a little bright with the whitye background and all the light I poured onto it. The shoulders and the waist plates will cover up the brighter of the spots.
There is still some cleanup and touch up to do. The shield still needs some work as does the trim around the bottom of the helmet. I could probably stand to work the transitions on the cloak a bit more but I think it looks presentable as is. I may add a couple of sword hit type scratches to the shoulders or other places but I don't know yet. That's everything I can think to say about it so I'll just show you the pics.( There are several of them). So, do you hate it? Should I just toss in the trash and sell all my stuff? lol ;)

If you dare........ Here are the pics

I love the worn look. The only things I could add are more highlights on the fur, and maybe a little less wear on the stomach area. It's completely rusted out!

Very nice armor but I agree with trystan. You took it a little to the extreme side. ;) But you definitely want to add highlights to the fur and even a bit more to the folds of the cloak. Cloaks are great for basic highlights and shading so let it work for you.

One thing I noticed about the rust is that it seemed almost like my highlighting problems. It's either all or nothing. The intense spots are just a bit too intense even for wanting the rusted look. If it was that bad it wouldn't do any good to wear it.

Overall, great job armor! You really took off with shading and highlighting by leaps and bounds.

Well, no need to sell your stuff and go live in a cave in a dirty toga, 'cuz that looks awesome! The weathering has some nice depth and variation to it. I'm sure that once that cloak has been dirtied up a bit, it will be even cracked up another notch.

You can bore me with how you did that - er please?

I really like the effect - the only thing I'd say is it looks a bit 'even' - I've been experimenting with sponging colour back in - but you're way ahead of me in this area.

good stuff.

The armor looks spot on, it really fits with a Chaos background. Great job.

I think the cape would look better if it was longer - nearly touching the ground. It would look more menacing. imo :)
