3rd Infantry type?

Here is my (two cent) suggestion for the Goritsi mercs (also known as the walking larder):

End result - This model is killed, and the Zeti or Skorza model that would have been killed is alive with 1 wound regardless of how much damage it had originally been dealt.

Interesting mechanic but nine times out of ten, a "mercenary" is going to look after his own rear-end. Not many mercenaries would sacrifice themselves to save someone else.

Depends. Have you read their lore? Sounds like they might be able to put up at least a bit of a fight. :)

The Ravenscar Mercenaries have long worked closely with the regular Tellorian military, so much so that joining the Mercs is, essentially, joining the army. Tough, brutal, and somewhat unruly to the non-Tellorian eye, the Mercs have a reputation for ruthless efficiency that’s in perfect keeping with their role as rank-and-file troops in an army of monsters. They train hard and fight hard. Those that fall behind risk becoming dinner. It’s as simple as that. But for those that can meet such high standards, the life of a Ravenscar is one of privilege, respect, and a potential road to great wealth: the dream of every Tellorian peasant boy. With an egalitarian system for loot division, and the highest base pay rates of any national military, Ravenscars can earn more in a single tour than most soldiers might in a lifetime. In battle, Ravenscars are renowned for their steadiness and resolve, even in the face of modern battlefield horrors. And small wonder when Tellorian encampments might be as bloody as the most gruesome battlefield.

An ability like that should be on the vampire or werewolf, that when they take fatal damage they "suck energy" from the closest non-monster friendly unit (Mercs :)).

Like those mercenaries would have a choice vs a hungry vampire or werewolf :curl-lip:
Exactly! It's not so much the reaction of the merc as the reaction of the mortally wounded monster, the merc is just the poor putz that was conveniently there. That's why they pay them the big bucks =].
@Xavarir - that sort of ability would probably go on the vamp/werewolf, but I was just thinking of ways to make the mercs interesting without making them tougher/cooler than the monsters.

Looks to me that their lore even suggests that Mercs sometimes become dinner. Seems like an angry/dying monster would have no qualms about a little Merc snack now and then. Its not like they don't get paid very well for having to take the risk of fighting alongside these guys

Absolutely. Those that fall behind become dinner. I wouldn't say many Mercs get eaten willingly (via one of their abilities). It will be cool to see what kind of abilities they do have to fit into the vampire and werewolf based army. Must be something useful to warrant a place on the field over just more monsters.

Eh, it could always be an involuntary reaction (e.g. you are within 2" of dying monster you get eaten), but yes I agree that sort of ability probably does belong more on the monster than on the merc - I can hope can't I?

It's been so long that I forget what most of the units do. I keep having to go back and check them all out again. I think the Goritsi Shieldbreaker is becoming one of my favorite units. Not only does he look intense but planting him in the middle of a large battle is going to be all kinds of fun.

Ok, so I have been informed that I need to tone down the "Horrific Tyrant" overtones I'm giving off.... Something about PR and HR Relations... I dont really know what either of those mean...
