Warhammer Quest Minotaur
I'll tackle the most obvious thing first - yep, this is my first SENMM attempt, and yep, it's pretty laughable. It's even funnier when you think I originally tried to do full-out chrome (to highlight colours used elsewhere in the composition). I think I have a handle on the basic idea of the SENMM, but clearly my technique is not up to the challenge. :-< (The ring in his nose is real metallic paint, I forgot about it when doing the NMM and was just too tired to go back and mix all the same colours again. I'm debating whether to go back over the NMM with metallics, or just leave it be and consider it a learning experience.) As far as the rest of the mini...I'm fairly happy with the skin highlighting, although the shading looks better in the pic than in life. I would have liked to do a reddish tinged skin, but I couldn't come up with a mix that I liked, so I went with orangey instead. The horns I think worked out pretty well. The eyes aren't bad, but I wish I'd used a lighter brown to outline them. The skull on his belt is meant to look like carved ivory rather than a real bone skull, it seemed too flat to be a real skull.
