Warhammer Quest Minotaur

I'll tackle the most obvious thing first - yep, this is my first SENMM attempt, and yep, it's pretty laughable. It's even funnier when you think I originally tried to do full-out chrome (to highlight colours used elsewhere in the composition). I think I have a handle on the basic idea of the SENMM, but clearly my technique is not up to the challenge. :-< (The ring in his nose is real metallic paint, I forgot about it when doing the NMM and was just too tired to go back and mix all the same colours again. I'm debating whether to go back over the NMM with metallics, or just leave it be and consider it a learning experience.) As far as the rest of the mini...I'm fairly happy with the skin highlighting, although the shading looks better in the pic than in life. I would have liked to do a reddish tinged skin, but I couldn't come up with a mix that I liked, so I went with orangey instead. The horns I think worked out pretty well. The eyes aren't bad, but I wish I'd used a lighter brown to outline them. The skull on his belt is meant to look like carved ivory rather than a real bone skull, it seemed too flat to be a real skull.

Again quite clean paint job. This one would profit from darker shading on the skin. And again blacklining would do wonders.

I think your first attempt at SENMM is commendable! The axe looks a little rough, but the metal arm band is very nice. I love this mini, I think he looks very Minotaurish and very frightening, actually posted the same one myself. Good job, Wren!

Haha.. this minutaur made me laugh. He doesn't look very big and mean, like a minutaur is supposed to be.. but well painted, nevertheless. The skin looks good and the whole figure looks nice, except the NMM looks weird.. check out the axe, it doesn't look like real metal.. it looks like it's two different kinds of metal, one light and one dark. I never tried NMM myself though so i'll shut up now.. :)
