Convention 2010 Sophie
Martin Abel did a design of Reaper’s mascot character, Sophie, for the ReaperCon 2009 t-shirts. In 2010, Gene Van Horne sculpted a version of the figure, and I was asked to paint one for the Reaper collection. The figure was available for purchase at all conventions Reaper attended in 2010, and then was retired from sale.
It’s an interesting challenge to paint to match artwork, and one which I enjoy taking on from time to time. Although I do not claim to have matched the original artist’s vision, I did have fun with this one! The artwork I was given differed slightly from the version I’ve linked in colour, most notably having a bit more colour in the hair.
