Abigail and Savannah

The sculptures of these dogs are based on real dogs owned by Jim at Dark Sword Miniatures. They are part of a larger scene with a warrior figure. I was working on painting that scene a few years ago, and dropped the main part of it to the floor during the painting. The metal was damaged beyond repair, never mind what happened to the paint! The dogs were undamaged, so I decided to paint them up as their real rather than their fantasy selves, rushing towards their food bowls rather than a mighty battle. I had pictures of both, and worked to capture their colouring as accurately as possible. The bowls are made from sections of brush protector tube filled with gravel for kibble.

Nice scene, very dynamic. I like especially how you painted the tiles. They look so realistic. Of course the painting of the dogs is also superb.
