I noticed the claws. They look like he might have sprayed white paint over a dinosaur toy. At first I thought it was a scratch built submission. I don\'t have a problem with that. Some one combined Gundam model parts to a Tau battle suit. I looked really swank.

well....i\'m actually l3ess bothered by this guy than the other thing i was ranting about, but still...not too impressed by his stuff really. Although he does seem to pump up his votes, there\'s so many peeps that do that on here, i\'m not particularily bothered about that. Maybe he\'s just so bad at english that it seems like he claims to have sculpted the things from scratch, even though they are conversions/kit bashers....i dunno, one thing i do know, the beasty of the mechanoid thing looks like he ran into a wall headfirst...

To be clear at the outset, I am making no judgments about the authenticity of Robius\'s work. Suffice to say that asthetically Its not my cup of tea. But I will give him / her the benefit of the doubt.
Assuming that the voting has been manipulated as people are suggesting, what I really don\'t get is why would anyone bother? It doesn\'t sound like the sculpt in question will be produced for sale, so the CMON rating doesn\'t have a financial benefit. If all this is about is ego, that\'s pretty shallow, not mention stupid. I mean how does that work?
Culprit: \"I think I\'ll check how my mini is doing on CMON\"
[Checks computer]
Cultprit: \"WOW I\'ve got a rating of 9.6 and I\'m in the top 10\"
[Thinks - for a mini I didn\'t sculpt and which is based on my own voting.]
Personally, I can\'t see the satisfaction of \"beating the system\" in this way. At best you\'re cheating yourself. At worst you\'re p**sing off a lot of genuine talented people.

It\'s not that I care that he\'s abusing the system and getting high scores, it\'s that he\'s ruining the \"top 10 last 7\" I don\'t often get time to come and browse for hours, so I just click on T10L7 and get... his treant crap and the he-man action pose cut in half and placed on Larry the locomotive gone wrong.
It keeps other people from getting into the t10l7 and getting the votes and recognition they deserve.

Well, in the long run, some feelings are gonna be hurt, and there will be much apologizing. That being said, this is what makes a forum good in a sense. If the system is being beaten and put out of proportion, then it is no longer fair for anyone.
I know I don\'t get tons of figures pumped out like many of the full time ebay folks for example. If I do and I even get it into the top 10 (which is harder and harder), I am quite pleased! Now though, it seems this is the easiest way to attract snipers, and seeign my Mancubus there very briefly before getting bombed from 8.9 down to 8.4 and removed from the list was extremely satisfying. After that though, and seeign a bunch of white sprayed stuff with no details getting well over 9s, I personally was about ready to cancel my membership and remove everything...
Oh well. It\'s only a sily numbers game. I sometimes think the top artists have turned this site into an eternal competition, and unfortunately, some people cannot deal with being lower down than others. I wish *every* painter in the world had internet and digital cameras, and excellent lighting... I would love to see who really is \"the best\"...

I may have been misunderstood earlier. I agree completely that its a pain in the butt looking at the top ten last 7 days and seeing things in there that are artifically inflated. I was one of the (many?) people who was annoyed by Robius having several items in the top 10 at the same time. Originally because I didn\'t like what I saw. And now, because I probably missed something that was truely deserving of being in the top 10.
I agree that artifically inflating a score devalues the system and undermines the spirit of CMON. And I agree with the sentiment that I want to see the \"best\" (although I also want to see great ideas even if the painting or conversion is not the \"best\" - which is why I do browse from time to time as well).
I digress, my point is why would anyone care enough to cheat the system? You have to be pretty inadequate to get some kind of kick out of voting yourself to the top!
Anyway, enough ranting. For those of you who out there who put genuine blood sweat and tears into your work, whether you achieve a 1.1 or 9.9, ignore the sniping, there are people like me out here who genuinely appreciate your efforts.

As for the question of the IP\'s anyone with a modicum of knowledge of how the internet works can easily create a spurious email address from which to vote. And the IP number can be forced to change from your ISP quite easily, without losing your connection. Plus if you have a number of people in an Internet Cafe all it takes is one with the knowledge to cascade it out.
