maybe ROBIUS has a program that permit give a high number of votes every day..i think it is possible..and all those suspects about the people who leave comments: i am sure that they are his friends or maybe all of them are the same person (robius)..the fact is that instead his work is tabletop quality..it is totally overvalued ..
and his terrains are good but not at the same level as manworkhouse or others, and in the case of the sculpts..if he use green stuff , why the minis are always painted in withe??..maybe because he took different pieces, mixed together, then glue, and then he use white basecoat to give an overall impression like if it is sculpted by him..but sincerely, the monster body reminds me a plastic dinosaur..and the other part is from a he-man model.
...and all the other sculpts are impossible to see closer..maybe because he didn\'t sculpt anything..

if i am wrong I will ask for excuses, but something so strange is happening here..and he is not as good as the marks shows.. i cannot understand how it is possible that the biomech has more rating than much of the gael\'s pieces of art.

sorry for my bad english

Ahemmm!

Whatever the \'ins and outs\' of this situation insulting and/or non-constructive comments will still be deleted......
Unfortunately there is no rule about sycophantic arse licking, but hey! I didn\'t make the rules....and let\'s be honest...we\'ve all done it.:D

Apologies to those folks whose comments I have just flushed. Think about it next time and take a lead from Zaphod\'s masterly contribution.....;)

To me, the pieces Robius is posting are obviously over-rated and the score manipulated. And honestly I don\'t have a problem with this, since at the end of the day, everyone knows it, he knows it, and so his scores don\'t represent anything except his ability to cheat the system here.

So normally I wouldn\'t give him a 2nd glance, HOWEVER he is disrupting a function of this site that I do enjoy. For a while now, at least half the \"top last 7 days\" list is his stuff. This is a place where I would go to see some of the great new art that is being posted here to learn from. And it looks like this is intentional.

(example: His ent hit the top list about a week ago with about 100 votes in the first day, then slowly declined until finally with joy I noticed it had slipped off the bottom of the list at about a 9.0, the next day I come back and notice the ent now has about 100 more votes and is back up to 9.4 and about 5th on the list)

I am happy to admit that Robius does put up some nice work, but in my opinion his actions here do nothing but discredit his ability and disrupt this site.

I find it amazing how he has taken the time and effort to sculpt moldlines on his pieces.

Like the mechanical arms on the Biomech. Look at the center of the smooth non drilled portion of the arms.

I mean how else can you show what an incredibly skilled sculptor you are, except by putting in detail only a casting machine can. :D

Oh waaaaaait. Those must be really subtle joints in the armour plating...

No really, this wouldn\'t be so funny if he would have at least put \"Scratchbuilt\" as the category and not gone on and on about his \"self hardening plastics\".

Aaah but what do I know. I\'m not popular enough to have a fan following that will put 90some votes on my stuff within a few hours of posting. Talentless Git. That\'s me!

I voted a seven. There is alot of skill here but this is NOT a coolmini in my opinion. I really hated the design. After all alot of it has to to do with whether or not we like something.

It is a nice sculpt don\'t get me wrong. However, It doesn\'t have much unity. Just looks like something that was put together with the wrong parts. It is entirely too unatractive for me to give it higher then a 7.

Beltane, I think some pieces might be from Transformers as well. The arms look VERY familiar.

The plastic dinosaur suggestion looks good too.

{edit} : \"Spawn\" pieces look rather similar too. Everyone! starting looking in the attic! lol

Hmmm...

The \'Case for the Prosecution\' does seem to be gathering a head of steam...

Mouldlines....that is a very good point...

As arch mediator though....he could have made the original master and cast copies...

Not taking sides....just being Devil\'s advocate...:flip:

Don\'t get me wrong...if someone\'s cheating...I claim first swing at their danglies:D:flip:

Hi Saxon Angel,
I agree...look at the strange red color on the claws of the \"monster\"...it seems the white primer didn\'t covered very well the previous color!!! :D
And the moldlines as you said are evident!!!
Maybe Robius think we are all \"modelling dummies\".
Cheers also from Luca...we are still laughing after he saw Robius masterpieces!!! lollollollollollol

As arch mediator though....he could have made the original master and cast copies...

...and then primed them white, not caring for the moldline, and try a subtle reddish-chestnut wash on the claws and then decide to post it.... and our master sculpter furthermore was too occupied to sculpt proper transitions between the torso and lower part and fill the gaps between the tail and the rest of the body or the arms and the torso.....

Are you familiar with the old robot saying \"Does not compute\"?

Brushlicker and Freak!
I\'ve been watching this for the last few days and its been driving me insane, mainly because I didn\'t want to openly accuse anyone.

I noticed a lot of his stuff had disappeared and then it suddenly reappears. Now some of it is very good and getting deservedly high scores, but other stuff is not so good. But all his stuff is scoring highly and getting a very high vote to view score, strikes me as very odd.

It was bugging me so much I even PMed Dragonsreach to get it off my chest. I now feel vindicated that others think something odd is going on (even if its not Robius fault, but fanboys).

My main concern though was for those like manorhouse, Wappelius, necromundia etc etc who seem to be getting a raw deal on the top ten.

terrain hell

Thanks Trevor!:D

I appreciate the support there! You may have noticed that I don\'t list my dioramas as \"terrain\" anymore.

This is because the last time I did so (with a diorama that sold on Ebay for $1200 USD), my scores went down into the sixes and even fives. I had the unfortunate luck to put them up at the same time as a mass Mobius posting.

Once again on the Meliador, I was hammered a bit when this latest blitz began, although not listing them as terrain may have saved me some grief.

Cathy has even gotten a little irked about this whole thing, and she is usually the one giving me a wedgie every time I whine about scores, etc.

I suppose I do like a little whine with my cheezelol

I am very hesitant to post my newest project, because it will be a sitting duck. Since it is by far the best thing I have done to date, I would be pretty upset if it ended up in the 6\'s or 7\'s.

at first look at his mini in question i thought it was just a rather oddly molded figure he sculpted...
then he gave us the size....almost exact action figure sizes..and posable armes....action figures have those....hmmmm
but what ticks me off even more so then that he tales credit for other peoples figures...is the number of votes he gets..i havent hit 50 on any of my posted pics yet...they havent been up long since i keep thinking no1 votes cuz of the pic, so i try to take better ones and update em...but still...
i am furiouse....:mad::flame:

well, I know some of my minis get ~50 votes in about 2 weeks and that is with me posting links on other sites.

With that aside... I didn\'t notice the arm joints... if you guys scroll down to the last view and look at the back of the \"mini\".... those are action figure arm joints.

argh:mad:

its not really a sculpt but a kit bash.

I have the gun in my bitz box.

the head of the smaug dragon is from hollywood\'s Godzilla.

As a kit bash it is kind of interesting (not my taste mind you)

Perhaps there is confusion between kitbashing and sculpting????

Well, the problem is that he\'s claiming it\'s all \"sculpting,\" not kitbashing. I have no problem with kitbashing--that\'s a fine way to create some fairly unique stuff pretty quickly. But I do have a problem with someone saying they sculpted something completely from scratch, when in fact they kitbashed.

The text under the images says \"It is the hobby\'s model which is sculpting of green stuff and other self-hardening plastics materials.\" To me, this implies that he\'s claiming he sculpted all of it. Of course, this could be a weird translation issue (if run through a translating program, who knows what \"self-hardening plastics materials\" came from).

Still, the more I look at it, the more iffy it starts to sound... ???

mystery comments

I have been looking at the comments on the minis in question.

It seems that anyone who does not toe the line, and offers any sort of criticism generates immediate counterattacks from the mystery posters.

I don\'t believe I have ever seen this before. Sometimes the artist themselves will reply to a comment, since they receive a notification.

If a person who left a comment a few days before is \"checking back\" to see what other comments have been left since, might it be due to the fact that they are voting multiple times?
