Good God that Austrlian GW site has a lot of \"User agreements\" :( Annoying having to say \"accept\" just to view EVERY thumbnail :p

Your gargant, however is MUCH better, in almost EVERY way, although I can see a few details in theres which I think you could hav used, but too late now :p

Their paint job, however is fantastic, and if yours ends up anywhere NEAR that well painted then it a GD CERT as far as I\'m concerned!! :p

Have you finished with the base - or are you giving that a rest now?

hmm

A really nice 40K warboss was Seb Perbet\'s gold winner in UK open category at 2006 GD.

It\'s not on demonwinner yet...but I have seen the pic here.

I may have it at home...but not sure...

EDIT: found it :

Inspiration...

I\'m following this topic since you started on this \"mini\". Dude what you are doing it great... You\'ve inspired me to build my own Beast... It\'s not as elaborate as yours... but for 3 days work you may say it looks quite nice. I hope the pics will apear on the screen ( I\'m not very good with it).
I will post some pics after i paint it...(I\'m going to do it right now... I just can\'t wait)

Keep up the good work

Hahaha! My goodness.

You might discover that there\'s an \'Edit\' function you can try when things don\'t end up linking right.

In any event, that\'s quite a job! Looks great, especially for three days of building. I am jealous of your speed. There\'s definitely some ideas on yours that I would have loved to see while I was building mine, particularly in the head region.

How large does this bad boy run? I wonder if we\'re close in scale.

Also, since I feel it\'s obligatory, I do have a couple new pictures of it. I think this homage gargant might actually inspire me to pick up and finish painting this thing.

With some Krylon rust primer overtop the black to help repair some of the spots that sprayed on wrong:

Actually, I find myself hoping you paint yours first so I might have an easier time picturing colors in my head. ;) The biggest obstacle for me to get started on this sucker is that I can\'t quite figure out what parts should be what color.

I duggest that you paint the metals in diferent parts head plates and so onin slightly different mettalic shades, then do a couple of thin washes with a mix of

Scorched brown
Chaos Black
Chestnut ink and
Black ink.

Differ the ratio´s slightæy each time for a varies effect then VERY lightly drybrush several times the a darkish metal tone and the lighter ones. Then you can add rust:

Do a couple of thin washes with an oragne color and vermin brown to get a good base (smudge these out with your finger if you feel the edges are too harsh the you can take and orage and stipple a bit and then some brown and some diluted red until satified. I hope this was helpful and although it might sound difficoult I think you be suprized but practise on some scraps first.

Cheers,
Squig

Yeah, I\'d say start off doing him in metallics. I\'d be tempted to paint the entire thing in a flat coat of Mithril Silver, then get busy adding different colour tones and shading to it with various washes. It shouldn\'t take too long before you get it to a good looking stage to be honest, and you can then get a better picture of how far to go on the individual parts as far as weathering and layers of tone go. Once you have the metals done it should get easier to see where colour should go.

Hi again...
My gargant just got some paint on it so I can post some photos.
For the base I used black primer than I drybrushed everything with Tin Bitz. Next coat was drybrushed with Boldgun Metal. It looks pretty good ( like old metal). Than some light brushing using Scorched Brown and Vermin Brown for mud and dust.
I still got lot of work ... details, rust and battle demage.

woowzers its a gargantuan gargant post lol
sorry had to be super cheese there.
have finally caught up with all the posts
the First gargant looks great( heard it before i know) i would diffently try ang make all the bits look like there from different ages (rust wise) and different races. some IG insignias and some SM insignias (like the second gargant has) maybe even different tribes (badmoon, bloodaxe and such) just a opinion but it helps me paint when its broken down ( not all one coloure) good luck:beer::beer:

marcineczek0, that\'s also an awesome piece of work...if I needed a gargant I\'d be bidding...especially at that extremely and generously low starting price!
