Nah, methinks I shall be beating the other younglings resoundingly, again :p Don\'t worry though, I won\'t be able to enter that category after Salute 2011 :p

I had a great time again this year... spent a quality few hours with the CMON lot before running off to the woods.

It was great to see everyone\'s minis, some I had seen before that I had a good chance to reaquaint myself with again and some new ones... it\'s always exciting to see peoples work.

Thanks to Mike for the police woman... brilliant mini, brilliantly painted and really means a lot to me personally as it was generous in the extreme and very unexpected.

Thanks also to everyone for just being a great bunch of people, I always feel at ease around hobbyists and this has maybe encouraged me to pick up a brush myself just for a laugh.

There were a few entries that stood out for me and I can\'t wait until the salute guys get the photos up.

Cheers all for a great day!

I\'ll echo what everyone else has said in that it was a top day out and great to meet a good fair few people, even if in some cases it was just a hi.

With regards to the painting comp I was gobsmacked at coming second for the Sci-Fi squad and even more surprised at winning the Salute 2008 mini category. Especially considering the quality of all the entries across the board this year. Congrats to everyone else who won.

As for photos I did take some, but the quality is bloody awful (nice and blurry) so I think it\'s best they don\'t make an appearance ;)

It was really good to see all you guys (just got back) had a great time.

Just to point out to anyone waiting for results I did Twitter them as they happened as best I could. Will have to up my SMS skills for GD and learn to spell Italian and Spanish names! eek.

Meeting everyone was very cool - and despite wandering around holding a pic of Squiggy (to most of the general publics bemusement) it did mean I got to bump into pretty much all of you, bar a couple, sorry. :(

Thanks very much to Joe for a. letting me hold Marneus despite acting like a complete fanboy, and for the free metal :D

Sorry we crossed days at the hotel Mike and Paul - but on the plus side we did get an upgrade to an exec room (oooh!) even though my jeans were covered in back paint (speed painting accident).

Look forward to seeing you guys in June for the PB meet or at GD.

Photos on Flickr (please ignore all the ones of the hotel room!)

I knew entering the speed painting was a mistake.

T\'Was a grand do and a pleasure to get to go and meet up.

Sadly the hangover made me less inclined to mingle, more inclined to sit down and sweat beer!

Even though there were no prizes, it was worth it to go see some stunning stuff. Mark who won best in Historical was a worthy winner (He\'s Matabeli on \'the Basement\').

Well done Dave/Mr Scream for clearing up!

It was a fab day all in all. I\'m only sorry that I didn\'t get to meet up with everyone who I wanted to! :( ! I\'m starting to feel I\'m never get to chat to some of you guys outside of a damn computer. Still, plenty more meets to go!

I mentioned it on another forum, but the only slight disappointment I had was with the rather gloomy lighting in the place - I hadn\'t been to Excel for ages (this was my first Salute), so it was a little bit underwhelming trying to squint to see the lovely figures in the cabinets. Ah well, I look forward to seeing the photos. At least one of my painting buddies got a runner-up prize (Fet, who also rather stunningly tripped on the step as he went up! Still, only his ego was bruised I think - and anyway he had bragging rights due to the prize!).

Great day though, and I look forward to the next one.

Greetings all!

I would like to thank everyone who entered this year, the standard once again was phenomenal!

This year although the number of entries was down the number of entrants was up!
Mainly because of the 1 entry per category stipulation this year.

There were more Cabinets this year (2) and hopefully a few more next year. I won\'t forget the lighting next year!

I will have pictures up as soon as Roger gets them back to me! (Yes Luke. I got your email!)

I never really get a chance to talk to many of you at the show, but I\'m glad you all enjoy it. I think this years Salute had a great buzz about it.

See you all next year!

Ah great Lawrence. I\'m sure I can speak for all of us, when I say we really appreciate the effort you guys put in to host the event.

I personally think the 1 entry per person, is a lot better, hope this rule stays.

First time I\'ve been and already looking forward to next year...
good to see some of you guys again and some for the first time..
A complete lack of sleep and a bigger consumption of alcohol than is usual for me a lately meant I spent most of the day heading outside for fresh air so apologies if I seemed a bit ignorant to anyone it certainly wasn\'t intentional.

congrats to all the winning models some real crackers and great to have a good luck at some of the pieces in the flesh and preciate them..
Atacams Hores dude and squigs IP entry really stand out for minis that have been killed a bit in photo\'s.

nd I finally get to paint soething to add to Joes stunning collection that hopefully won\'t bring the tone of the wonderful pieces he arries around with him too much...

Only wnsides were , blood travel was a nightmare .. got back at 2.am only to find out it was then 3.am......blood clocks. And the cost of a bloody taxi from the hotel to the event ... never mind the pric of a pint or the damn £9 10\" pizza..... robbing..b:cussing:ds

Hey guys :p

Was a great Salute as usual... I managed to pick up first prize for the miscellaneous class with a zombie hunter diorama, and also bought a load (too many ;)) of Smart Max miniatures (yum!)
