Thoroughly enjoyed the meet-up, some really impressive models on show. Having seen the standards of the entries, I\'m not even slightly (well maybe a tiny bit) disappointed at not getting anything. I\'ll have to work on my technique for next time.

Trevor

Brushlicker and Freak!
Yes great to finally meet people, although you should all have name tags or something, I kept recognising faces and having no idea who it was...

I was very impressed by the minis, I\'m so being left in the dust, but it inspired me to pick up a brush and I made a start on an illyad figure tonight, lets just hope I can maintain interest and finish it... :D

Paul & I looked at the Price of a couple of noshing joints around Leicester Square.............How Much? Yeah Right.

Anyhow Yesterday was a blast of a meet up. And speaking personally I thought it had the edge on the Gamesday Meet up. Mind you I was seriously overwhelmed by the generosity of a Couple of People.
Joe (Squidders) Passing out Figures, to like they were Smarties. (The Original M&M\'s to you Americans)
This included giving me a A Harlequin Painted by Adrian Craig which was featured in White Dwarf 112 and the White Dwarf to go with it. (Jaw dropping, near tear jerking generosity, Joe. )
People might have realised I was a bit stuck for words for a while....Which says a lot ............)

Then Donna made me Very Happy by virtue of a \"Lizcam Delivery Service\" gift.
A Ral Partha Dragon, painted by Donna from her collection. (OK my jaw now has an array of bruises from smacking off the floor).

Meeting people IRL again proves my point about the mental image you generate around their online persona:-
Lizcam is a little shorter that I\'d expected, but otherwise just the same.
Squighunter is a little painting and sculpting ninja appearing and disappearing at random and in silence....(His mother has my unreserved admiration as well. lol )
Trevor I\'d sort of mentally catalogued as being a \"closer to my age academic\". WRONG lol

It was tremendous meeting up with people and looking at others Mini\'s \'in the paint\'.
It\'s proved a couple of things to me especially looking at Prawnpowers Eowyn that Photography doesn\'t always show up the truth of how a mini looks, and I seriously need to \"UP MY GAME!\".

A couple of highlights for me: I got to look at a Freebooter Miniature painted by Jen Haley up close and personal. Beautiful subtle freehand on the Brahyn model.
And I finally got to show Michael Perry one of his own Border Reivers painted up as I\'d discussed with him a while ago. (He made very nice noises about it, but he could have just been being polite :D )

Oh and Yes....RETAIL OVERLOAD.

Nice to meet new faces (and old ones) as always. Saw some really nice minis. Unfortunately didn\'t make it through to the last table, but after seeing the quality of the work, I\'m not surprised really.

Think Demon herald was robbed of a trophy personally.

Already planning out my historical group for next year. Loads of inspiration there, not just in the painting cabinet, but also on the stands.......oh and in Squidders box;)

The Salute painting comp seems to be going from strength to strength each year and think before it moved to excel there was the possibility of it being a non start at the show due to a lack of entries...

OK we now have some of the names, now I want photos :D come on you have all been home long enough now...

Awesome show!! Loads to buy and see, I spent most my time at Games day waiting for the demon announcements but here there just wasn\'t enough time in the day. Great to finally meet up with everyone, cheers to Freak in a cage for hanging round to help after thanks to the lady who gave me a coffee and to Squidders for the free mini :). Im David H (or Hassain Ragik) by the way. Look forward to the next meet up.

The quality of painting was better than ever so congrats to all who entered and well doneto those who took awards.
I was so pleased and a little shocked to take 1st in single fantasy mini, but then to get the best in class was unbeleavable. :bouncy::eek::bouncy:
I will get round to taking some pics either today or tommorrow of the Gnome and post them here asap so you can have a closer look and leave me some comments.....:p

As much as I would have liked to win the miscelanious category, I did not, I was however awarded with an honourable mention, which was a pleasant suprise :)
I did however win the Junior category, which was nice too, very stylish glass trophy :)
Also, thanks to the generous and admirable patronage of dear lizcam, I aquired miniatures to an approximate worth of £400 :D :p

It was a great day, and it was fantastic to meet people again, even Mike :p Was also nice to meet people like Kev White and Sally, and the people behind the Smart Max stall, which sold what can only be described as the nearest I\'ve seen to tangible wellbeing, just looking at my albeit pricy resin bits makes me feel happy inside:D

All in all a really fantastic day, and I am already looking forward to the next one.
