Hi Matt! Congrats on your wins..! :) However co-entries were \"sort of\" banned this year.. so keep that in mind next year. You might get disqualified...

Thanks for the pictures! I think many didn\'t post pictures becasue it was very hard to photograph well with that poor lighting. I\'m going to clear up a few things though...

No unfortunately.. Adrian didn\'t place in Open with that one.
1. Seb Perbet
2. Mark Medford
3. Martin Footitt.

The bretonnians were KingM\'s and took Gold.

Jacob Nielsen took silver in large scale.
1. Fernando Prieto Carbonell (Nano)
2. Jacob Nielsen
3. Adrian Bay (Vincenti)

In 40k single David Rodriguez took gold afaik
1. David Rodriguez
2. Luis Gomez Pradal
3. ? was the Imperial Fist yours, Alberts? didn\'t look like your style.

The Puppeteer was one of my favourite entries.. didn\'t place :(

@Albert: Congrats.. now post your orc so I can leave a praising comment! :D

EDIT:

I thought I\'ll add the images that came out ok. I didn\'t take so many images though.

@ Avelorn

Thank you very much...:)...

And I didn´t know that cooperation on entries is not \"legal\", in Germany this is encouraged and I didn´t found anything in the Rules, that said I can or I cannot do it, I wasn´t sure... :S... So next year I better start earlier and do it by myself (will not be as good as with Ben, but a bit more fair maybe...:)...)...

Thanks for the corrections, I always have some problems to remember the exact winners and mix them up...

Thanks for the pics, the Gold Monster have been done by a brand new Member of the Polish Games Day Crew... Jippii...:D...

@ Albert Font Moréto

Sorry, sorry... Mix up, but I will remember now...;)...

@ Torn blue sky

The coach... the coach...

...

:)... It was very funny...

If joint entries are not aloud, why do they publish the miniatures as being

First:

Matt Cexwish & Ben Komets

I mean ive got no problem with it, im just curious why they allow it when its against the rules supposibly.

Note: im not taking a shot at matt or ben or Games day, im just curious to know

I the reason has been pointed out to.. that they don\'t know who has done which miniature in the judging.. so when they\'ve placed them on the shelf a guy/gal goes round and checks who\'s done what.. And then they discover if there are any joint entries and such. Then they have an option of

1. letting it go.. maybe scolding the people involved (like they did with Matt and Seth)

2. Disqualifying the pieces and.. try to get new winners. Which might be difficult if the judges aren\'t there anymore, or the timeframe is looking bad... etc.

So probably it\'s a case of lacking routines.. they should have checked it before putting any pieces on the winning shelf. And if they do.. they should have the courage to disqualify them.

That\'s how I interpret it.

And finally.. IMO they should try to have the same rules for all GD\'s to avoid misunderstandings. And then clearly state the rules and allow no exceptions.

...

So this question seems to trouble people more than I have expected...

Again, my \"explanation\" for that: There is no such rule in the 2006 Golden Demon UK Rules that says that cooperational work is prohibitet, as a matter of fact there have been Miniatures (as the one you put out, the Co-entry of Matt Parkes and Seth Nash in 2004...) that were legal... Another point is, that in Germany Several Miniatures won as Co-work (Tyrion by fredy & this muckus guy...)...

This Year there had been a case in which one entry had been disqualified because just one of the Tag Team was personally there... this was a break with the written rules, so there is no problem there...

I haven´t done anything wrong from my point of view, I will definetly ask once again in Nottingham... and if they tell me that this is illegal I won´t do it again... and then feel sorry for my Entry this year...

from gw uk\'s site.

The following rules have been compiled to act as a series of guidelines to consider and work to when you begin designing and painting your Golden Demon entry.

You can only enter once in each category, and all entries to Golden Demon, Young Bloods and the Open competition must be painted Citadel miniatures, Forge World or Imperial Armour models or scratch-built models that you have
sculpted yourself.

... Grgrgr... This means, that you should hand the in by your own, in person... this is not a restriction for just one painter...;)...

It certainly is a sticky situation...Gw need to set the rules clearly and across the board....
If I could get someone who is good at sculpting to sculpt some parts I need I would have a better chance of winning.. As it goes I\'m teaching and developing myself and hopefully in a couple of years a piece sculpted by and pained by me will make it into the winners row...

In some ways it can be more difficult to make a winning piece between two people (consistency of style etc...)
I think it would be better to have a doubles or team category specifically fo this though as it does pose all sorts of problems for me..This is not a go at you Mr Cexwish I applaud your win every model that won this year was deserved of it\'s respective title...but teaming up does seem a little off...

For example a painter like young Bill who has been extending his skills by working hard at it..getting advice and following that advice to gradually increase his hobby skill set has won a hard fought an well deserved silver..However if he teamed up he could have let someone else do the converting..the NMM ...the Freehand..the scenic base or any of the other things he tried so hard to and succeeded in learning....That\'s my view anyway....

As I said this is my view and not intended to take away from your win you have done nothing wrong you entered as you saw you were allowed....and Bravo..

I\'m gonna go paint one of Vincents sculpts for next year now ...:D

btw anyone know who did the pirate......?

Some Pictures.

Ok sorry for the delay but work has got in in my way over the last week.
Here\'s the Group picture taken by TESS as most of you will remember She was the young woman assisting (Ok directing us) together.

DSCN0185.jpg

34 people most of whom get on to CMON quite regularly.

Back row Left to Right:
I\'ve forgotten, I\'ve forgotten, Darkartminiatures, I\'ve forgotten, OrkyDave, Vincenti, Orb, NeilH, FredWinu, I\'ve forgotten & Me.

Middle Row, Bill, I\'ve forgotten, Sacha(?) Natasha (Margo\'s Sister), Margo, The guy half behind Margo I\'ve forgotten his name, Dragonforgedesign (Jeff Wlhiem) War Griffon, My mate Paul, Freakinacage, Torn blue Sky, KingM, Talonicus, Ralfmetal and I have no idea who the last person is (Very sorry)

Kneeling: The first 6 are the Spanish team, of whom only Alberto Moreno Font I can confirm the name (4th from the left) I do know Nano is one of them but which one, then Tyneth (Valerie) and Green stuff (Cedric).

I\'ve forgotton seems to be a very common name in my list at the moment. But at least I have advancing years to blame. ;)

Some other pictures to follow:

DSCN0182.jpg

The Vostroyans in the process of being collected together.

DSCN0183.jpg

Some of the Vostroyan\'s painters.

DSCN0188.jpg

Some very nice Farseers in the display cabinets.

Farseer1.jpg

A blow up of the painted one, some very nice work there. (even if the Photo is a bit grainy/pixcellated.)

DSCN0190.jpg

MArtin Footit\'s beautiful Figure from last year.

Farseer2.jpg

Scorpion1.jpg

A couple of rather spliffy plastics.

DSCN0192.jpg

A very Rackham-esque piece, and I have no idea who painted it as the picture had a large amount of someone\'s hand in the road, which I\'ve cropped out. But take a look at the way the base is painted, very subtle use of colours to remove the uniformity of the base.

DSCN0194.jpg

One of the Autarchs From the boxed army deal.

Ok Time to draw breath. :)
