Voted. I think your gallery photos would do better (score wise) from a smaller size.

Your mini's are very nice.

Cheers! Maybe I'll resize then. Thanks for the tip.

Ok, well I haven't made too much progress on the stegadon, as I had a commission job pop up. That was quite nice actually, as I've not painted any marines for years and it was a fun challenge. I'll ask the client if he minds me showing them.

I've done a little more today though. Made a start on the skinks, to take a break from all the gold.

These guys are smaller than I remember but a lot of fun. I painted a lot of lizards a few years ago and they haven't changed much.

A little update. I finally did a bit of basing. Just a simple job with a bit of milliput and sand, followed by some grassy tufts. Still it finishes grissel off nicely. Photo can be here in my gallery.

If you have tried to follow the link in my last post it was broken and linking to random pictures. All fixed now.

Sorry about that!

Well, I have put the stegadon to one side for a bit. I'm waiting for some bits to arrive from the states before I can continue. In the meantime I didn't want to stop painting, so I have made a start on gorier from the latest space hulk. Great quality plastic mini. Lovely detail and shows again that GW are on top of their game with plastics. I have also bought my first finecast mini (festus) and am hoping it is all ok. I inspected it as closely as I could and couldn't spot any bubbles or miscasts, so just have to hope there isn't much warping.

But back to the terminator. I'm using the same process for the reds as I did with Broga. So this pic looks pink and messy but it will all smooth out.

On another note, I have been inspired to make a little diorama for the davinci contest. If the modelling goes according to plan I will carry on, which means I can post my finished Broga here. Wish me luck!

Those space hulk minis are nice, tempting to try and pick up some myself. Painted the Broodlord type genestealer for a friend a while ago and really enjoyed that mini. With such nice quality minis coming in plastic it makes me wonder why they even bother with the failcast range.
Nice painting as always rob. The blue on that shaman looking skink is really nice. Did it come with that staff?

I know what you mean. Their plastics are fabulous. Really well designed as well as nice sculpts. I've only bought one resin from GW but it's still in it's box, so fingers crossed. I'll get to that after Goriel, or maybe the stegadon if the bits arrive soon.

Cheers. The skink is straight out of the box. This is the one who stands on the steps of the big machine thing on the back.

There are some lovely designs on the stegadon kit. Lots of nice extras too.

Back to what I can finish though. Had time to work a little more on goriel today. What do you thick of the colour of the gems/drops? I quite like the purple. Stands out against the red but not too much. I think I may have seen it done by somebody else and pinched the idea (so thanks to whoever that was!).

I think the photo makes the red look a bit flat. In real life it looks vibrant and lots of contrast. Oh well:

Purple looks great on the gems in my opinion. Tried to convince a friend to do them purp on his blood angels for ages but he didnt think it would look right next to the red and ended up going with a green. I'll have to show him this while proclaiming proudly "IN YOUR FACE, TOLD YOU IT WOULD WORK!!" :p

Busy weekend meant not much painting time but I managed to get a few minutes here and there. THE FRUITS OF MY LABOUR:

Wow, I've not been able to get on here for a while and that's the reply I see! Thanks so much! I wish I had more to show now than this bit of base (and a little bit of conversion work I'm tinkering with on an orc/ork)

Goriel is now finished. I've had so little time to paint the last week or so but managed to get a bit of time today, so finished his base and he is shin deep in gore!
