@silentscout - Yes, what you are talking about is possible and I think could turn out really cool. Here is one that I did that shows you dont need pitch black surroundings to make something glow and glow brightly at that.

When your ready, jump on board. Post pic\'s, WIP\'s and questions.

Ok the dragon is now built and covered in a dark grey basecoat. The base is a volcanic crater complete with bubbly lava. so the light is coming directly from below. Any ideas on next steps? :D

Holey smokes, I thought this thread was dead and gone. Good to see there is still some interest. As I am prone to say repeatedly......POST WIP\'s.

Of course I\'m still up for it!! Just the other day I was thinking how long it had been since any OSL action. I didnt want to keep bumping it if no one was interested anymore.

Clean him up and paint him dark grey. That is an excellent mini for OSL. Also, read the OSL tutorial......that\'s a must.

I address that in the first 1/3 or so of the article. You sight FROM the lightsource to where ever you can see the mini. With the lightsource CLOSEST to your eye, almost like a pivot point.

Think of the \'paint grenade\'. If it explodes where the light source is, where will it hit? and NOT hit?

It\'s a do-able, BUT, the question is - have you ever done OSL before and were you comfortable with it? I really like that mini and have considered getting it myself but if this is your first go at OSL I\'d recommend something simpler. I\'m willing to help you, just be prepared for alot of work...........read and understand the tutorial. If you are going to go ahead and do this one, start by painting it DARK grey. Post WIP\'s if need be.
