Ok Good stuff now ready

GALE FORCE NINE is all aboard
Justin we owe you big(Dark Zealot)
Today I got the email and did a follow up call as directed Justin had sent John Kovaleski the owner of Gale Force Nine the link to Paint Aid. John liked what he saw gave a verbal forthright commintment to supply all movement trays and the main tray to carry them. our bases are covered....lol
He is as excited as we are and offered to get a hold of the Games Workshop in the US to see if we can sway for the help from this end. Hot Darn huh... I will start a Benefit page for all the donating participants banners and I am going to pull in pictures of the things they help with it will show how much we appriciate their inclusion and their faith in our good efforts. John also requested the press realease for the web. ...
minimaker i told him you be working the base aspect right? so we will get the info you need to see how best this will work.
When Justin posted their company I followed with a yes this is a cool place...but now to me Gale Force Nine is over the top great. I invited him to get a user name and join us maybe he will take us up in the invite. I hope so.
..............................

Hey all. I have a question. I thought I\'d read all the posts, but I guess I missed this. What do we need a press release for?
-James
To put up at websites (see the official site) and to send to magazines. :)

By the way, creafigs has just put up their Tsunami relief figures on their site: http://www.creafigs.com/page.php?id=331
Perhaps it\'s an idea to add a link to their project when the set is available. We\'re both working to help the same people as it is.

Something else. I don\'t know how far you are at planning everything but there is one thing to keep in mind. Since we\'re an international group we\'ll have to take into account the time that packets take to get to the collection point.

TAB;

Sorry, got heads down at work for a few days and haven\'t paid attention to this thread. I\'m still in as well. I sent Tammy my information this afternoon.

Cheers,
Grumb

P.S. - I\'ll e-mail you my avatar or you can just grab the one off of CMON.

A few suggestions...

I have been following this thread for a while and debated whether to lend my talents (or lack there of). Due to the overwelming response by far better painters than myself, I have stayed clear of voluterring, not that my heart isn\'t there along with those who have pledged there support, but I don\'t think my brush quite competes. That being said, I have a few sugestions...

One of the biggest concerns seems to be providing unity in painting and design, so that the army looks cohesive when played, or displayed, whatever the case may be. I think that the army could be unified if a few things are done...

1) NMM or standard metallics, make the decision and stick to it. Personally I think standard metallics are the way to go, since NMM vary far to much in style.

2) Decide on a pallete of colors. Make a list of basic colors to be used. Sure there should be plenty of room for variation by adding to this list, but these main colors will help to pull things all together.

3) Have one person base and flock all the minis when they are done as well as painting the edge of the bases.

4) Has anyone contacted eBay? I know that they routinely have charity auctions and possible they might donate some money for materials since so many of the artists here post and sell on their site.

5) Lastly, momma told me this thing and it goes like this, \"If you don\'t have something nice to say, don\'t say anything.\" Sure this project may not make a ton of money, sure there are risks, but it is a good idea and heartfelt for sure. Who knows, maybe some celebrity gamer like Billy Crystal or Robin Williams to name a few, may actually hear about this and drop a ton of money for the cause. I guess what I am trying to say here is that I am sick of the negative posts so...

Becca, Tami, Mike,... etc, get this project moving and see what you can do!!! There are plenty here who believe in all of you and admire you!

(Please contact me if you think I could help in any way)

1. We already decided on metallics (Great minds think alike)

2. Already done (you can check that out at the website)

3. One person is going to do the bases, but I can\'t remember who.

4. I am not sure but that might already be worked on

5. WE CERTAINLY WOULD LIKE THAT

It is good that you thought of similar things that could be problems that we have struggled with. Thanks,
-James

Just thought I would ask how light we intend to do the Ogres.

OgreWIP1.jpg

Since taking this pic I have gone up to pure Kommando Khaki and that is quite light. The colours do not cover very well and take a lot of layers to make a solid covering. This is just a test mini by the way.

@tidoco2222 : very nice :). In WD, they lighten it up again with some bleached bone. But Tammy is working on a painting article to garanti coherance ;). However, your picture does stir up a good question : white or black primer?

Creafigs has put up a news item on our project: http://www.creafigs.com/index.php.

Quick idea, how about working together with creafigs on getting the news on the two projects out? What I\'m thinking is that we both make sure the banners of the two projects get send to those who want to host them. They are more active in the French speaking areas and we in the English speaking ones. Perhaps even a combined banner that leads to a page where both projects are described + link?

@minimaker : good idea :). We have a reunion tonight (Europe time) with Tracy, Becca, Tammy, and Peter to go over that kind of stuff. So if anybody has other ideas, just toss them up :).

Thanks green stuff, the mini looks better now with another covering of Kommando Khaki, I am also thinking about contacting Wargames Illustrated and see if they would print the press release that FF came up with for paint aid. What do you think.

I prefer white primer, especially if the colours don\'t cover that well, but I\'m willing to go with black primer as well.
