i would say using them yourself would be ok though, if you were selling them off, it\'s a bit more severe. gw even encourage push moulds (and tell you how to do it in a wd)

i personally couldn\'t care and i would have thought you could sell some off on the sly. i just wouldn\'t advertise it on an international forum!

Same here actually. Which is why I sent a PM when you first posted about making the heads and specifically noted where you got the from suggesting you not advertise the fact you are doing it. I only decided to post here as you ignored my initial PM and then went on to say you were going to sell them.

Overall, it\'s totally up to you. Either way it\'s a damn cool looking army.

I didn\'t get the PM until now, for some reason it didn\'t notify me I had a message. Don\'t freak out as I haven\'t sold any yet, just something I had been considering.

Lots of people are always curious about making money on the back of both Star Wars and GW licences, they both have their own legal department of guys paid to hunt down IP stealing people, so far only the primarchs have been able to slip through and this is because the local countires laws are obscure enough to leave some freedom of action (Spain, Italy and some eastern European countries).
For you, your sanity and your future, I would reckon that you keep it silent, should you make some \"offer\" them to friends of yours.
In my experience, you would not even make enough money to may be cover your production cost and the risks are not worth it.

Still wait to see more photos because they are really inspiring...

It's been forever and a day since I've put in work on my star wars army, had to deal with a broken hand for a while and then was further sidetracked by messing with a new nids army.

What got me firing again on the star wars models was going to Adepticon last weekend and seeing some of the crazy/awesome conversions on display and decided to reset my goal for the year and that's to get this army finished and on the table.

So far I've figure dout that the list can be run in 2 main incarnations, Pure Marines, or Space Marines with Allied Inquistors, using Boba Fett as an assassin.

Here's the first shots of the WIP royal guard which will form retinue and honor guard units depending on which list variation I play it as.

The robed legs required a fair amount of dremel work on the back and the iside of the cloak was cleaned out as well. The cloak was bent outwards more by boiling it in water to get it just soft enough to bend.

The foot was cut out and replaced with one from a black reach marine to get rid of the forward lean that the dark angels legs have.

The head is simply a spare marine helmet that had the face cut down and greenstuff added. Once the current greenstuff cures I will be adding a collar to join the neck and shoulders a bit better and replicate the look of royal guard helmet.

Trying to decide what to do with the left arm, I'm thinking possibly adding a shield or bolter.

Aaaaaaa! Being a pretty huge star wars fan this is too much! Can't compute! Very lovely stuff. The jetbike is just great, although I think Boba Fetts gun is too big and sniperish:)

The speeder-bike is very nice, but I have to say that the other figs didn't really jump out at me the way the Royal Guard did. I wouldn't mind having that/those somewhere in my army!
I mean, they're very well made, they just didn't appeal to me in the same way. But in SKILL, there is absolutely nothing to remark on.

Paulson, didn't you make another version of the scout bike where you had a less stiff arm holding the handle? Or did we just talk about it? I think you posted pics about it but I'm not completely sure...

Hell, being a Star Wars- and a Warhammer-Nerd this thread almost made me wet my pants in joy! Purely amazing how you don't cross the line of making the miniatures all SW or all 40k! Neado (and by saying 'neado' I mean 'awesome') job there.

Pate: I agree a bit, the rifle is definately a fair amount bigger than anything he uses in the movies but I was having a tough time coming up with something that'd double as a heavy blaster. In some of the dark horse comics he uses some larger weapons if the target requires it. I settled on the rifle as he's going to be played as a Vindicare Asassin, which I felt best fit his style he hits hard and stealthy but he's not a great knock down and drag out brawler.

Chrome: I did change the arms so they are bent at the elbow a bit like he's riding a harley. The pics might be up in my photobucket folder, but might not have it ATM as a lot of my older photos are down.

Getting the right mix of 40k and star wars flavor has been the fine balancing act as it's easy to go too heavily to one side or the other. I want something rooted in both genres at the same time. As the models are all based on 40k parts it does get slightly more 40k flavor from there but the trick is to squeeze in just enough star wars. So far I've been pretty happy with the mix, but at the same time it does make it difficult as each piece usually takes a lot of forethought and planning, not only to figure out the parts but also get the genre mix right.

Makes it a slow build project but very personally rewarding. It's also been a great way to train my eye for picking out individual foundation shapes and parts rather than looking at models as a whole. Boba is a perfect example of the crazy thought process he uses parts from 6 differant figures to get the right parts, but they came out pretty seemlessly IMO.

I can't get over how monstrous that walker is compared to the titan in your photobucket. Thing is gi-normous.
