Phoenix Maidens on Sculpted Base
SONG OF TWO SISTERS A mini-diorama entitled “Song of Two Sisters,” which includes two expertly painted, 1/32 scale (approx.54mm) figures from Phoenix, LOST WORLD of ATLANTIS on a hand-sculpted base. They’re seated in a clearing on the bank at water’s edge-as carefree and peaceful as the lily pads that are floating by. Loving expressions are evident, as their sweet song emanates. The younger sister(PXA12), a cute little redhead with blue eyes, is adorned with of colorful flowers encircling her arms and waist with a single flower in her hair. She’s playing the twin pipes, while her older sister(PXA13), an adoring blonde clad in a deep, blue-violet loin cloth, keeps harmonic rhythm on her lyre (which has been strung). Leaned against one of the rocks, you’ll see another set of pipes. The base (riverbank) and rocks were sculpted, baked and painted using Sculpey, while the musical instruments, lily pads and flower were sculpted from Green Stuff; in addition, the hair on right side and the entire back section of blonde hair was also re-sculpted using Green Stuff, as the original set included a Satyr leaning against the blonde, which left an indentation to be filled. A medium green mix/earth-tone flock, static grass, tall field grass and gloss on the water finish off the base, which has been mounted on a 4X6 decorative oval, cherry-stained/polymer coated wood base. For additional, enlarged views, please click on auction and thank you for viewing! All my miniatures are meticulously filed, washed and primed in white prior to painting with acrylics. Figures which require assembly, are carefully drilled, pinned and/or, glued for extra stability. I use varied techniques of layering/blending, washing with inks and acrylics, shading/highlighting and always NMM(Non-Metallic Metal). Some of my figures will include hand-painted designs and/or, sculpted bases. All miniatures are multi-sealed with matte finish for protection.
