RACKHAM MINI-DIORAMA SCULPT
This is a hand-sculpted mini-diorama featuring : 2-28mm Confrontation figures from RACKHAM; La LIONNE ROUSSE/MOUNTED (The Red Lioness) and a Kelt Fianna. The 3rd figure is a slain REAPER DEMONETTE, lying partially beneath the water. The two figures on the lower level not removable from the base; but the mounted figure is. Many weeks of preparation, construction and painting has gone into this piece and I am very pleased with the results, but I can honestly say, “I will never paint another mounted, La Lionne Rousse because of all the extensive details!” The mounted rider has snow-white hair, blue eyes, painted lips and cheeks (a very pretty face) clad in deep, red leather, sapphire blue loin cloth with lots of embellished, gold filigree. At the sword’s hilt is a skull with horns on the front and the bones of a vertebra on the back. Her mount is pale gray, darker gray mane and tail with black, leather armor, two protruding horns from the stallion’s face plate, matching sapphire blue, leather reigns, a golden lion’s head breastplate and even more embellished, gold filigree. This piece, on its own, is loaded with details! The Kelt Fianna on the lower level has Dark black hair, blue eyes, painted lips and cheeks. Also clad in deep red leather with brown leather, protective plates strapped to her thigh and arm, matching sapphire blue loin cloth, a dagger strapped to her lower leg and again, embellished with gold filigree. Blood drips from the blade of her sword after having severed the hand, at the forearm, of the Demonette. She is permanently and securely attached to the rock on which she stands. The Demonette, lying just under the water has a sickly green cast to her skin, vivid red hair, which is splayed out beneath the water as the blood from her wound pumps out in a rhythmic beat to color the water red. Her severed hand lies on a rock just above her head. The cliff base and rocks were sculpted from sculpy over foil and wire armature to bulk it out and for added strength. After baking, the piece was primed and painted, the water feature was added using fishing line and Water effects from Woodland Scenics, leaf litter and tiny twigs beneath the water. The piece was finished with earth tone/green mix, static grass, tall field grass and brush; all mounted on a walnut-stained/polyurethane coated, 4” X 4” wood base (the edged of the wood base were sanded to give the piece an old look) and the total height is 7” with the removable rider. It was impossible for me to get a decent photo of the entire sculpt, but you can see other views by clicking on the auction.
