Sir Richard, the White Knight Reaper #02420

This mini is my first attempt at painting white with shading. I think my yellow with highlights and shading came out better than the white. I really did make the top half of the sword blade light and the lower half dark to give it more definition. I think I am learning as I go with these minis but I still need more work with white. I am using Vallejo Game Colors with homemade magic solution to thin the paints. Future floor cleaner mixed with water. This does make color blending easier but I still need more practice.

Ridiculously under-rated (currently a 5.2). Nice shading and good base work makes this at least a 6. I think it's well executed ... for a 7, but I'm not crazy about the color-scheme so no 8 today.

Much as I hate these reaper knights with the ridiculous headpieces, I have to say that you did a really good job with this one. I thinkt he unicorn's head is my favorite part. I think that his tunic would look better with a deeper shadow--maybe something a little orangey or brownish. The blue is lovely--very vibrant. The shading on his white unicorn looks better than on the bottom half of his robe to me. The robe's transitions look a little abrupt.. there's too stark of a contrast between the white and gray there. I like the purple metallic, but that's mostly because I like purple.. :)

I actually really like the white highlighting. did you go from a light grey up to white? (I'm still too afraid to really try highlighting white ^^;;)
