Sir James the Blue Knight Reaper #2429

I am working on blending colors using magic solution. I like the way this worked for me. The color scheme was a bit tricky because I wanted this knight to be mostly blue. I ended up making the bird on the helmet into a flaming blue jay. Rather odd creature, but one that is sure to put fear in the hearts of Sir James opponents.

Very nice work. I always have trouble with my blues because the inks bleed back up through the paints after they have dried. This bleed-up process takes a few weeks so I'm always disappointed by my blue models later on. (This is top of mind because of a blue dragon I recently painted.) Perhaps this only happens with one of my old GW inks ... anyway ... enough about me ... about your figure: I think it's turned out great.

The flames under the bird make me think of those cartoons where donald duck would get really angry and then an egg would fry on his head 'cause he was so mad.. at least, I think that was donald duck. Great color choice with him and I agree with Nailpainter's comments about the blue highlighting. I think the metallic on his chainmail is looking pretty good and you did a good job with the flames. Again, I must express my annoyance with these knights and their silly helmets. Sorry. :)
