I knew a girl named Lemly. Felt sorry for her.
It\'s a Germanic family name, spelled as Laemmli, I doubt they just made it up. It was probably some family connection. But yes, unconventional.

???

My given name is \"Allison\". It\'s probably the least-common male name I\'ve ever encountered, but I don\'t think it\'s near the worst. It never got me in a fight, for instance.

I think probably the worst names are when parents try to be clever. It\'s just a recipe for trouble. I once saw a news report featuring a fellow named \"Epluribus\" - needless to say it was NOT about him winning any awards for good citizenship...

Liz it was great meeting you at GD.... and i think i shall name my son....( since it is a known fact that the pregancy happened because of Liz\'s experiment in male virillity in the freak bar) ......

LIZCAM Jr. :bouncy:

Cheers :drunk::drunk:

Now that\'s about as bad as it gets. It was hard enough my having to deal with lesbian take-offs of my name without a BOY having to deal with them. Poor little thing. Have some mercy on my spaw....um....you kid.

Working in education I have seen some really awful names for kids:

Surname: Cart Forename : Orson
Surname: Wharrier (Pronouned warrior) Forname: Saxon
And his Younger brother Roman.

I kid you not.

Two kids who grew up near to where I lived were called Paris & Troy Lightfoot.
I beggars belief what some people come up with for their kids.

In all seriousness don\'t name a dude Kim. I know two, not sure how but two dudes named Kim... (sorry to be racist if perhaps I sound that wway) but only one of them is oriental.

Any of those guy/girl names are bad.

Plus I have to admit I hate Dick. All forms of dick from Roberto, to Dick straight up. I actually work with a guy whose name is Richard Long, no seriously, everytime I see him I have to resist punching him.

I was this close to being named Allister. <shudders with horror>

Luckily my dad came to his senses and named me Gavin.

There was a girl in school. Her name was Candy Hart. A real sweet girl.

About Kim.. Kim is a much more popular boy-name here in Sweden. I know several Kim that are boys.. none that are girls.

I have nothing against androgynous names in general. Except when dating I presume.. ;)

But names that are trying to be clever.. and like flowernames that sounds cute as a little boy .. but not as funny on a 50 year old, bald, lawyer for example. Hi there Daffodil! And I read something about people naming there kids \"Unique\". I mean WTF?

One of the worst androgynous names has to be Lesley. The poor boys...

Hehehe, perhaps not quite as bad, but still novel; I work with Precious, Beauty and Urgent.

The worst ever name for a guy; there is a radio presenter in SA, well known for classical themes. His name is a dire Richard Cock. I want to slap his parents on his behalf.

People can actually be named Gaylord, right? Don\'t get me wrong I have nothing against gay people but imagine the bullying the poor boy would have to endure..

I don\'t envy those called Dick either.
My brother is a Dick (Richard) and I\'m a Willie (William) - my Dad obviously has a one track mind. Being tall, I had to endure lots of hilarious comments about being a six foot willie at school

Ooooooh, that reminds me of a very silly little song about Cowboy Billy and his Six Foot Willie. Shall I sing it for you? :D

But I trust that your surname is neither Hitchcock nor Rockefeller?

i dislike all hyphenated names. really posh ones like montgomery, tarquin, rupert, marmaduke, verner, chester. had some dodgy combinations come in to be xrayed in the past. dealt with a little ginger kid called steele quirke. bless

I worked for Teas Nursery in Belleair (the biggest town in Houston)
years back and, an on going jousting in my family has to do with Ima.
Now Becca knows I was not bs\'ing about the name she walked in just now to tell me you were here.
I did restoration work in the park off Bayou Bend , Ima donated some very worthy land there and work in the Natural Science Museum she was well known there also for her generosity.

Despite the name that was really intended as a honor from a poem she was an outstanding person and seemed level headed as well as lonely. I liked what she stood for and yes I poke fun at the name even still.

Who knew I would ever hear the name here!

I dont know if any of you have heard of the Book Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt, and if any of you are intrested in society through the eyes of an economist its an extreamly intresting book

theres a chapter about names. Which is my favorite in the book. I\'ll give you the best bits

in 1958 a NY man named Robert Lane decided to name his two sons (out of seven children) Winner and Loser. Loser became a sergent in the NY police department, Winner on the other hand, 3 dozen arrests for burglary, domestic violence, trespassing, resisting arrest and other mayhem

a young girl of 15 was brought into the Albany Court room for bring men into the home when the mother was at work, and other sexual related charges, her name? Temptress.

as for naming kids \"Unique\" in the 90s 228 babies were named Unique, and one each of Uneek, Uneque and Uneqqee.

2003, a young couple named their son, Yo Xing Heyno Augustus Eisner Alexander Weiser Knuckles Jeremijenko-Conley. (woah!)

This parts my favorite! from 2000- 2005 heres the break down of some intresting names out of the California Birth Records Database (all of the names info comes out of there to give some sort of starting point) all of these were given to children as First names
8 Harvards
15 Yales
18 Princetons
3 Lawyers
9 Judges
3 Senators
2 Presidents
1 each of Lexus, Armani, Bacardi, Timberland
1 Shithead (pronounced shuh-TEED
twins named OrangeJello and LemonJello (pronounced a-RON-zhello and le-MON-zhello)
