Really nice acquisitions, those brushes will last you a life time if you take care of them properly and that book is a game changer. That skin looks great!
Thanks! I started the book last night. It’s certainly very deep but it’s already made me think about a few things I wouldn’t have otherwise considered about painting minis.Really nice acquisitions, those brushes will last you a life time if you take care of them properly and that book is a game changer. I think the same.Definately don't see it as failure though....more like progress!
I’ve only ever had a little play around with this so I’m no master (or even half decent for that matter), but what I’ve found is to be really effective you have to get smooth transitions in the tones, coupled with abrupt sharp transitions in areas... something I found useful was taking a photo of a chrome spanner (or wrench as you guys all them in the states) and editing it, really pushing out the contrast to virtually black and white. From this you can really grasp how the light reflects and work out where certain shades should be in the reflection.
Here is a good little read about understanding what makes a something shine and how classical painters tackled it. Nmm is not something new, painting in metalic paint is the new kid on block!!!
NMM
I was a backer and mine got lost, they replaced it and all was well for me but there are people left that have been getting more and more annoyed for the last few months. I feel sorry for Dameon (the guy who runs the business side of things) he's basically doing it all himself now as they've lost staff members and he's juggling sorting out packages for the kickstarter and trying to keep the regular packages going. I used to know him 20 odd years ago so maybe I'm a bit biased but they're probably the only company I'd give some slack to for slower deliveriesNo sign of my nude minis yet but I think Hasslefree are having some problems fulfilling orders after a Kickstarter they ran. Hopefully the minis will arrive this week.

Thanks, Krule!Your nmm looks much better than my first attempt. You are definately steadily improving.
Almost there I’ll echo what folks have said!!!
