So I did actually put something together for this month, but it didn't turn out so well. So I may wait until next month before I put pics of anything up :)

@Goblinho: thanks, hope to find out next month subject is mercenaries, Arnie would fit perfectly there! Concerning your werewolf, I simply love the basketball theme (being a former basketball player myself)! And the pose is great, it really conveys the sense of motion!
I look forward to November topic...

Wow.
Just find out next month's topic, pretty challenging but EXTREMELY interesting.
As far as October goes, here's my final post for the Halloween theme: demon creature in all its glory!!!
I swear, I've tried hard to create something decent for its back, but the thong-style was definitely too good to be covered up ;-)
Still a few things to fix (like the "hole" in the musculature above its right knee), but I would say it is 99,9% complete.
Enjoy! C&C welcome as usual.

Some more progress...

I have done a bit more work since taking the picture. It's just really the hair remaining now. I can imagine the next photo will be of the (more or less) finished piece. I may eventually turn this head into a full figure or perhaps a bust.

Well the end of the month is here. I haven't had as much time to work is this as I would have liked but here are some photos of my ghost so far.View attachment 23439View attachment 23440View attachment 23441

I'm quite pleased with it over all for a first try at sculpting. I think the biggest problem I have had is not getting the surfaces smoothed out.
I have enjoyed giving it a go and time permitting I'll be having a go at next months as well. Maybe try something a bit more challenging.

Nice try Boarbandy!!!
Not bad at all...
Concerning smoothing of GS: I've been around a little bit longer than you have, and what has worked best for me so far are silicone-tipped brushes.
You can find them in any Art Supply store with a decent catalogue, or on Ebay. Search string "clay shapers". For 28mm scale miniatures, I suggest Size no. 0 or Size no. 1.
They're not extremely expensive and, trust me, you will not believe your eyes at the final result. GS will seem to SHINE (really)!.

You can buy the 5-pieces pack for less than 20 dollars, and you get the three must-have of the series: the round-tipped one, the chisel one and the flat one.
Colour of the tip will tell its hardness: the black ones (firm) work very well if you have to create deep grooves, while grey-tipped ones are softer.

Hope to see some of your works in November!

Cheers

There is finishing off to be done... mainly the cheeks and hair. This will be finished so I will certainly be returning to the thread to share the final photos.

I am nowhere near finished! I'd take a photo to show where I'm at now but it's too dark to get a decent picture so I'll have to wait until tomorrow, otherwise it'll just a be a picture of a green blobby shadow.

BTW, good work Andy, it's a simple piece but looking at the side-on photo you've given your Halloween ghost some motion, he's walking not just static.
