Sculpt-along 2: The Greenstuff Strikes Back - Newbie Sculptors welcome :)

I think the closest I have ever come to sculpting anything before is the play doh hair salon I had as a kid. But as I have some green stuff that I bought for filling gaps I thought I would join in this month and see how I got on.

I've tried to make it easy for myself and opted to sculpt a trick or treating ghost (man under sheet). So far I've got the basic shape and started working on one arm and leg.

Hear is where I had hoped to put the pictures but I can't seem to insert them. I've clicked on the insert image icon, that takes me to a page that says add image from your computer but there doesn't seem to be any way to select an image. click ok and it brings me back to my text? If anybody can please tell me what I'm doing wrong I'll have another go.

Yep, refresh the page. You need the "browse" button to appear so you can browse your computer for the file.
A simple Halloween "sheet ghost" should be doable, or you could do a tree with a scary face - they're fairly easy.

Nice start Boardandy shows a good concept of how how cloth folds overt an object underneath, if you get a sharp curved scalpel blade you can shave the fabric smoother and take out the finger prints. Great start keep up the good work.

Goblinho werewolf is coming along nicely, with the trainers if you make the basic shape in green stuff then put a thin layer over and sculpt your detail on and put the laces on last by rolling a really thin sausage and place into the eyelets.

Nice spook Boardandy! This has been on my "to do" list for sometime, as it would be a fun drapery study. I'd like to give mine a chain too!

Here's my latest progress on my Saw Puppet head (well guessed Chrispy!)

Hello everybody.
Really a newbie here on CMON...
I started a few years back getting interested in sculpting (since I'm a very poor painter!), but never really tried to create something from scratch..

Here's one of my first attempts: 70mm to the eye, the creature is meant to be used as a demon prince of sort.
Materials: FIMO and green stuff on steel wire armature.
hope to post its final version soon (it will come with a sword and a whip), still not sure whether to add wings or not.
C&C welcome as usual!!!
Thanks for looking

Sorry everybody!
I didn't catch the Halloween theme behind all previous posts...
Definetely a newbie (and a rather numb one...)!
Well, let's say my post is for a werelion creature, which can fit in the Halloween atmosphere...
Sorry once again for the misunderstanding!
Bye

I do need to re-familiarize myself with GS and Milliput. No way I make this one, but I will watch for Moonmin's November one.

No worries! Welcome aboard. For those not able to join in on any particular month there is no reason why they can't still post something they have indeed been sculpting (even if off-topic!). After all, we are all here to learn and as such the subject is (dare I say) almost irrelevant :)

Will be great to have you on board mate! November should be fun, I think I have it all worked out and have also decided who to pass the torch to!

Nice to see some fresh blood, Abaddon! I don't think he needs wings.. maybe a tail or a back piece to the loincloth 'cause the demonic G-string speedo is making me a bit uncomfortable. :p

First of all, thank you all for your kind welcome!
@ Crispy: Ehr, I do know the "thong-style" may look a little bit upsetting, I was actually planning to add some sort of chainmail/armour pieces to its back, but I'm having some serious issues because of its posture... I've already tried a couple of times, but angles always look a little bit awkward: some good green stuff wasted for nothing!
By the way, I'm almost done with everything else, so I should be able to meet the end-of-October cutoff date! Wings will be part of my next project, no time to do them now...
