That armor looks soooo good! You've come a long way is such a short time, it's amazing! And I like the color of his coat; a nice contrast with the armor. Are you airbrushing the armor parts?

Thanks all. Octavian80 I airbrush the basecoat and the first highlight, then move on to a brush forvthecrest. I find that's quicker and I get a smoother result for each coat.

Thanks Octavia80. I'm pretty pleased with that armour!

Right now my thoughts are on the Orruk megaboss that's waiting for me. I'm tempted to paint him a bit different to the yellows and blacks I see all over the place, mostly because I've painted a lot of yellow recently.
I'm wondering if teal armour might look good, or if that's just not Orcy enough (I'll never get used to saying Orruk).

Thoughts?

My megaboss idea is growing on me. I think I'll be going for a palette that reminds me of the coast, so blues and greens with some rusty orange reds for contrast (maybe fits the theme of a coastal marauder?).
Ive done a quick test to see how it looks. Need to lighten the top of the foot but any thoughts? I originally had some brown in the shade but made it look too much like 80s chrome. What about some dark green?

It's hard to tell right now. For Orcs, I like all different colours, mainly dark greens, browns, reddish tones, etc. Goblins are more green-green if you know what I mean. (In my opinion). What colour are you painting the Orc?

I feel the same. My original thought was for earthy tones, dark grungy metal and so on but I wonder if something a bit different might work.

The skin kin will be be mid to pale green with pink/cream areas on the face, palms, elbows etc.
My current thought is for the majority of armour to be as the photo, with odd panels in varying analogous colours. The colour contrast would come from rust spots and weathering.
Mostly I want to push myself.

Work so far. Concentrating on adding green hues to the left and shaded parts. Think it's working and adding a little interest.
Many thoughts?

It does indeed. If you look at the. Best plate you can see I added some purple glazing already. The purple will be more subtle though. I want to concentrate on the more sea type colours.

Looking awesome so far. Very deep blues on the armour, fits the ocean theme nicely.

Face is looking great too!

Thank you!
Ok, small armour update. I was going to do some panels in other colours to help with colour contrast but I've decided to wait until I've done the chainmail, cloth and added some weathering. Mostly just working my way around the armour, trying to get the green and purple glazing to look right.
I'll be doing a final highlight or two to help edges stand out, once everything else is done.
