Ok enough teasing and some progress.

I\'ve pretty much finished the terminators, there\'ll be some extra tweaking going on, Like I\'m thinking of painting the inner section of the power mace a darker colour, probably the metallic, to stop it looking so much like a giant baby rattle, and a couple of little bits and pieces here and there.

I\'ve taken on board most of the suggestions as well that sprang out of the progress on the troops, most of which I was already going to do but one or two ideas that I hadn\'t thought of or wasn\'t sure of.

Anyways, enough babbling and onto the main event! PICTURES!!!

SOLID!

Great stuff.
Without a doubt this is the best looking iron warriors army i\'ve ever seen. Not trying to blow smoke up your can, just a statement of fact. Really nice work.

I love the patina (aged copper) look on the terminators shoulder pads. Great contrast with the matte tone power weapons vs. the metalic armour. Very successful look all around... keep it up and keep sharing!

Thanks for the comments, guys. I\'m real happy with how they are turning out :)

I\'m now after a bit of feedback on some ideas I have for the dread - following is a pic of where I am up to, about to start on some major weathering and I can\'t decide on the colours for the flails. I am thinking of either doing them entirely in the turquoise power weapon scheme, top to tip, or just doing the tips in the turquoise and maybe just fiddling the weathering colours in the arms.

Here\'s a pic:

I second the glowy blue bits - it\'ll tie it in with the rest of the army nicely.

I\'ve been keeping an eye on this thread for a while, I love it! Keep up the good work, and if you\'ve got five minutes, check out my (SLOW) progress:-

Hey mate, I\'m not precious about the ideas, I stole most of them from someone else anyways!

Lava bases from Silphid and others
Yellow colour scheme was Automatons idea
Dread is my interpretation of the GW artwork
Walking defilers were inspired by some others on here
Big guns are just cool
Oh, so are robots

So yeah, go ahead :) it\'s not my sacred cow, if I can help give you some cool ideas I\'m happy.

I would agree with freak on this one and paint the tips, I think the lil touch would do alot on the flails. Keep it up and great work

It really is a bunch of awesome ideas cobbled together though! It\'s one thing to carbon copy but when you inject some scope and imagination things start to live.
Loving what you\'ve done so far, it\'s what I would picture a rag tag bunch of renegades to look like!

OMG you are just pounding these out!

I like the idea of the spray on base coat so much that my CSM are getting base coated with rust red from rustoleum (its primer people, so no one panic).

And you guys probably thought I forgot about this or got bored... :)

Here\'s my progress, I\'ve finished the dread, and have started painting up the walking vindicator. I\'m not that happy with the model and think I might just go with the 3 defilers and then do something else. After all, a possessed vindicator gives you 1 gun and thats it for the same points as something a little weaker in the cannon, with a longer range, 2 more guns and CCW...defilers are better I think for what I want...

I\'ll still finish painting up the vindie, but then I\'ll paint up the defilers next.

The base is made out of abused cork board stuck to a cd. Not any special cd this time...

Here are the pics of the vindiwalker, and yep; I dont\' update for ages and then you get two in two days! Amazin\'!!!

The jobs rougher on this one, for two reasons:

1. The paint was badly misbehaving
2. After getting near the end I realised it suited it anyways - who in their right mind is gonna go near a daemonically possessed vehicle to try and fix or wash it anyways...unless it\'s dead or disabled.
