Here\'s a stupid question for you, how do you stop those chains that are hanging from swaying and rubbing off the paint on their links?

Lol, my bro is a lot older now. But he used to be like that, and my dad never used to catch me beat up on him...often. He was difficult for a lot of years but he works now and is in his early to mid 20\'s and we get on a lot better.

I simply give the chain a few drops of superglue, and use a cotton bud or something to quickly quickly draw off the excess glue. Or blow it off.

Now. Here\'s my dilemma. I didn\'t start with the idea to make a defiler like this. In fact, I wanted to make a variation of the Ripley. I tried but all that happened was my imagination had other ideas...bast@rd!

Anyways, this was what I started with to try and make a variation on the torso I made for Ripley, so that I could start a new beast of uber bang bang death:

Minus the tentacles sprouting from beneath it, of course

Then I ended up with this:

And finally, because a close combat defiler needs one cannon, I tried this:

With no intention of building a redback defiler...and here\'s what I get. Evil tentacled spider octopus. Lemme know what you think, although it\'ll be nearly impossible to disassemble at this juncture, I can do other stuff with it to make it a bit different. Ideas are definitely welcome.

Funny thing is, in real life it looks pretty cool, but in the pics I\'m a little \"meh\" about it...

Here\'s what you could do, as well as something that I\'m working on. Although I hadn\'t thought about the use of tentacles, may have to steal that idea from you Add hooks to the ends of the tentacles, then scatch build a mouth, with some mechnial arms around it (Bile Vile (CSM guy) backpack, or Necrons tomb spider arms, or just scatch build some up) around the whole lot. Make it look like it just doesn\'t kill you, but feeds on your body and soul :twisted:

I love the new defiler.. I think all it nees is some chains & hooks & your good to go.. I not fond of the mouth idea.. i dont think it fits in to the ironwarriors feel of your army.. but thats just me.

I\'ve removed the turret, because that was the main thing that was bugging me about the thing and added an underslung cannon. It\'s not quite as large but it still serves - it can be some kind of experimental chaos plasma blast cannon or something fluffwise - but it will still do the defiler cannon thing.

It won\'t be too bad to paint. No worse than the Ripley was, that\'s for sure. At least this one is smaller and less fiddly in comparison...

how long until we get some primed shots of these models. I find that many conversions are pulled together at this point, once you cannot identify the original components.

Well I\'ve finished based and finalised the construction of the Black Widow pattern Fast assault defiler, with new improved stabby tentacle ends and hot lava base to match!

We haven\'t had power here for like 6 hours so I\'m doing a quick post before I go to bed. Here\'s the pics, and I\'ve started on the construction of upright defiler number 2. I\'m considering arming the second with twin linked lascannons and either twin linked flamer or havoc launcher. Haven\'t decided totally yet. I think another ccw would probably be better but I\'ll work that out as I go...
