Love the models you have chosen. Would love to get my hands on them myself, esp the Wood Elf and Slyyth. Just scared to touch them. Can't wait to see what you do with the Dark Eldar. Are you going to use your own scheme or stick with the GW one?

Yeah me too, love the original and most of the others. Used to love priming proximity grenades and running a rookie in to a UFO :) Still remember how scared I was first time a chrysallid ran through my troops :)

Ah, now that pushes my nostalgia buttons as well... :D Biting your nails while you see your little fighters race across the globe to intercept a UFO, with your troop transport following close behind so you could reach the crash site directly after the crash so you could capture more live aliens while they were still rummaging around in their ship...

ok, so I bought the sslyth. Love the mini! Just one problem . . . . it's a misscast. So I have bought 2 finecast minis and already I have one misscast :( not impressed. Back to the shop tommorow for the replacement.

Just listed the wood elf on ebay, item number 260878850583. being a bit cheeky with the starting price but I'd be dissapointed with anything less than £20 for it :( Hope someone likes it enough to buy it :)
Loving painting the sslyth, It's gonna look xcomtastic :)

Ok so snakeman/sslyth is coming on a bit but I better mention what happened with him. As I was painting him there were some bits of the armour that I though havent been sculpted too well. I had worked on most of him and I'm at the point where I'm pretty happy with where he is going but as I was base coating the back I noticed that the mould is completely misaligned.
Now the figure I am painting is my third mini I have had from GW with the first two being complete miscasts. At about 50% of the way through the paintjob I was really unhappy with this. I called GW customer support and they were great to be fair. He offered to send out a replacement Sslyth but I told him there was no point as I was not going to start from scratch.
This resulted in him sending me a Death Jester mini :)
Good news/bad news
Good news is that the mini is cracking and a perfect cast, bad news is that the snakeman is right on the back burner because I LOVE the Death Jester.
It won't let me upload the pics so i'll try agian later.

Sorry to hear about the miscast. Seems the finecast failure rate is still high, dreading the firebelly i am warming up to buy for a painting comp.

And yeah those harlequins are dead gorgeous miniatures. A true painters dream.....and nightmare

Love the harlequins since the old Rogue Trader days. I always loved the harlequins kiss as a weapon too :)

I'm going for a joker from a deck of cards idea with him. I want the mini to be monochrome except for a really vibrant blood red.

I have the display base about 50% done. He will have a standard base for gaming too.

The idea behind the display base will be that he has stepped out from a Joker card. I have downloaded a font for eldar runes and have painted the word joker down the side of it. Kinda hard to explain without pics :( Still wont let me upload.

Neat idea for the death jester. Dont think i have seen that before. Any ideas on how to paint it? Are you going with the classic diamond pattern?
