I've played BB against lots of just primed miniatures, you could already play with them like that and they would look hundreds of times better than just bare metal/primed/base coated! Keep painting them since they already look great, and quite sharp for being at that stage of the process!

as usual I've been payingmore attention to Instagram than here....been following these on there though. Really intersting start with the metallics...good to see them develop.

Survived the grind. And it was, which is why I haven't posted the couple of weeks. I was actually gluing players to their bases minutes before being picked up to head out of town. But I got them base coated, sealed, and mounted to their proper bases. Phew. It was a wicked weekend of blood bowl - easily my favourite event of the year. And I was able to sneak out with the award for the best offence for the second year in a row.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words as it helps motivate not only progressing but sharing my work with the community.

@Krulebear - the gold is actually metallic paint. My workbench photos don't really show it the best, but it is also done with Alclad II so the pigment is super fine.

Here's a photo of the team that I was finally able to take - it has been a crazy busy couple of weeks. The next step is to dig in and finish painting them.

Im really good at advice at this stage-DIG IN DIG DOWN DEEP AND REALIZE HOW HAPPY UNCLE BAM IS AND HOW AMAZING THESE WILL BE ONCE FINISHED!!! You got this- nothing like painting but finishing a well painted army/ model/ unit/team/dio is just as sweet!!! Btw they rock...hard!!!

lol. No matter what the metals look great and when done well it is hard to tell the difference between nmm and tmm. If you look at AndyG's latest work, I would swear it was TMM if I didn't know better.

These look great just base coated!!! Cant wait to see them when they are finished. Damn that metallic is super smooth, looks like pretty amazing stuff, is it easy to work with?

KruleBear: Andy's NMM gold he's working is mind blowing good. I've been studying that, though I don't want to tackle some like that on a team/army project as I'd never finish in 1000 years.

CC: I really like Alcad, but it is terrible to work with because its lacquer paint. It requires proper ventilation, breathing protection, etc. And once finished, there is no real touch up paint that matches, so you have to work carefully with washes, paint to highlight and shadow things. I find I really like it as base for the metallics on some projects. Many people are using the new(ish) Vallejo Metal paints as they are acrylic and have very similar finishes.

Slow progress on getting the chaos boys put together as converting slows things down quite a bit. The state of the team when I finished up last night. 10 players assembled (mostly), but with putty work left to finish them up. I've got another chaos chosen player yet to do, but I need to figure out how I might want to do tentacles on him. The team's minotaur is enroute to northern reaches, so I should start sorting out a paint scheme.

Oh boy the paint on the elves is starting to look awesome, but I love the chaos minis! I don't know which ones I'm more excited to see finished!

Looking forward to seeing your finished Chaos conversions and where you take them with the paint brushes....Elves have never been my thing...too clean and tidy. You can have far more fun with the nasty minis IMO.

Keep em coming!
