Frequently Asked Question

I do have another question though that I think Ted may have answered but can't find. We have been playing it that only standard infantry get the duckboard\runner bonus move, and infantry heroes just have to catch up if they can. Am I right in thinking that Ted said somewhere that the ability applies to all infantry type units but the game went to print before the change could be made or am I just being hopeful?

That does seem to ring a bell, if true I might deploy Gaston more often as as it is now I can't justify spending the DP's on a model that takes 3 turns to get into the Fight.

This would definitely get the other 3 heroes out more often. Parman is usually the only one who makes it onto our table.
Sniper always gets deployed in out games due to his range buff allowing the MG and himself to shoot right across no-man's land after 1 turn, rarely see Wolverine though again, due to the time it takes to get in range.

This. Range buff is sweeter than me. And he can suppress allied Hammer 65 Pounders so long as they aren't being given RA by Parman. He's a key Blight piece, IMO. Worst case scenario, set him up to cover an SO from 4 grids out so it's hard to artillery him and have a pretty good chance of being able to clear 2x riflemen at will.

Hello, I am new to the forums, and I just ordered my copy of the game. I have watched the videos and am looking forward to the game arriving and get down to playing. I do have a few questions. I have downloaded and read through the rules and the FAQ's and have not found this addressed...

1. When watching the gameplay videos, I noticed Calvary entering the Strategic Objective...from the rules it states "Strategic Objective - Only Infantry can enter. Count as Duckboards>" So my question is, was it meant to be stated, that only "Infantry can score on Strategic Objective tiles", or is supposed to not allow any non-infantry units in these tiles?

2. Again, in the video, I see that a "Hero" lands in a Strategic Objective tile. The person demoing the game states that because he is a Hero, he cannot score points. Now the symbol on the Hero looks like a modified infantry icon, so my question is can the hero capture the Strategic Objective?

Thanks in advance for the clarification of these questions.

Only Infantry can enter Strategic Objectives or Bunkers - No other types are allowed.

But that includes ANY Infantry - Standard, Hero or Special

Agreed. Generally, Infantry Heroes count as infantry and they can take points. You may have been watching an outdated video.

We just filmed some new videos that should help with rules. Specifically we did a quick overview of the grid order, how to use it effectively and also how flat grid and chain grid attacks work. We kept it short and to the point :) I know that CMoN has a lot of video to edit from the show but hopefully those will be up sometime soon.

Glad to have you in the fight @dpbohr!

Thanks for the help! I do appreciate it. My copy of the game arrived Wednesday and my buddy and I played it! IT IS AN AWESOME GAME! Thank You Ted for such a great creation! My buddy called me up last night to see if I was free to play again. The help from you guys made it easy for me get us started...and thoroughly enjoy the game! Looking forward to the videos, as it will help with me getting some of the my other friends to play. I am thinking about talking to my FLGS to see if maybe I can help them out and do a demo of the game...I enjoyed it that much! If I can convince them to do a demo day, is there any support I can get from CMoN to help me get it moving along?

Again thanks for all you help!!

LOVE THE GAME!

A question came up on BGG and I cannot find an official answer, so thought I would ask:
Generally do buffs always stack and Does Bolster Defense(-1) Stack?

I think they do: bunkers make units in them harder to hit (by one die) and The Wolverine makes units in his same grid harder to hit(by one die). In my opinion, these are independent events working together, so the buffs stack.

obviously remembering that an attack wbich has been bolstered will always have a minimum of one die.

Thanks in advance!

Let's hope there aren't two characters with RA buffs!

I would say it does. It says right in bolster defense it is down to one dice, so you can keep taking dice off until then. So... yeah.

Is there a limit to the amount of units that may be on the board at a time, besides physical space?

Nope, just physical space and models will detur you from filling the board. Movement will get harder, but technically if your have the DPs, the rivets, and the space, then you can add as many or as few units to the board as you want, and as long as they don't die... there they shall stay.

Okay Fellas question about Edwina Brasseldun and her Special Rule; Tunneler

The rule starts out with

At any deployment phase this unit and all in it's grid may tunnel underground. Remove those Units from play....

Does This mean she can tunnel on the turn she is deployed since the rule does not mention anything like "At the start of the Deployment Phase..."
Or is she deployed turn 1, tunnels turn 2, pops out on turn 3.

I wondered this and took this to mean: no it can't be used on the turn she's deployed. She can only tunnel at the start of the deployment phase, if she's already on the board. If she's deployed at the start, it's no longer the start of the deployment phase.

I've not had chance to check but Ted and Bill use Edwina during their epic playthrough - it will probably be clear from that.

Doubt it, as the rules state 'and all in its grid' and the grid is on the table. And no, you can't activate models in your opponent's phase.

I think it should be allowed when she is deployed. I understand awaiting an entire phase to use her would nerf her a bit, but I still think that the entire "I deployed units that cannot be used this turn" and the uncertainty of where they will pop out kind of makes it a risky move in the first place.
