Thanks a lot :)
Learned quite a lot during that project but it was also kinda exhausting ^^

Finished two other minis last month and finally had some time to take pictures.

Was a relaxing small project after painting the OSL madness xD

Quite like how he turned out. Haven't had a real goal or inspiration at the beginning but it came during painting :)
Not really sure though if the "night-light" from the back really works. Could probably be a bit darker and cooler ...

Agreed, You could maybe add some glazes of a dark blue on the back to mark the night light even more and inscese the contrast with the front warm light.

Just a thought though, it looks already amazing.

Thanks :)
Yep, will probably try again on another mini at some point.

Continued to paint Laila. Grinded through the NMM gold parts the last two days and painted the eyes several times. Quite strange that the eyes feel so small on a 75mm. The mini is double the size of the small 35mm scale I usually paint but the eyes feel just as small xD

Not 100% sure about the skin. Really struggle to judge the contrast on large scale models. I think deeper shadows or brighter highlights would look wierd :/

Wow, more amazing work here. I like how your "relaxed, easy painted" minis look so stunning :)

I see now what you mean by the small eyes on the 75mm figure. My take on this is always that the smaller the scale, the more the sculptor has to enlarge the features we tend to look for, eyes being a good example. At 28mm / 35mm, the eyes are super tiny so they have to be made over large. When you get to 75mm, you actually have a chance to make "normal" sized eyes but then they feel tiny in comparison to the smaller scales.

Regarding the skin, I am always amazed by how much light skin will reflect, especially in the specular highlights. The oilier the skin, the more prominent these are, and the drier the skin the less specular highlights. So maybe add some bright highlights? I reckon she will have perfect skin, not oily but certainly not dry.

The gold looks great, really looks like well used jewellery and the slightly greenish/ochre tone complements the red nicely.

Yep that's what I thought too. Although it's a slippery slope since eyes are a key area in the face that usually instand look strange if proportions or anatomy are off.
Really strange that painting larger scale minis like 75mm feels so wierd xD Hope it won't take ages to get more used to it.

Yes. But also the light intensity has a great impact. I use some reference pics for her. In fact the highlights I placed with sunny skintone are already brighter then the highlights in the picture. To boost contrast I think I can boost the shadows a bit more but that can also be dangerous on female skin xD

I wanted to give it an old gold feeling and yes, bright warm yellow/reddish gold would be to uniform with the red clothes and warm skintones. Think the color also gives the gold more "pop" so it stands out easier.
Hope I can fix all the parts that broke off xD
The mini is really fragile. Probably should have used ABS-like resin since it's a bit more elastic. But the standard rapid holds detail a bit better and is easier to print. At least I had way less fails with it ... (still new to 3D printing).
