Cool that mask really conveys a disturbing atmosphere. Well done. Can't wait to see the dust bowl busts progress. You have some very cool minis you are working on.

Thanks KB. Just finishing off the last few casts to send off, and I'll get cracking on the Dust Bowl Farmer. Its keeping me on my toes and helping to push my skills. Going for worn denim and plaid on the farmer.

Just a general inquiry for those of you who use purchase scenic bases for miniatures.

What do you look for in a base? Style, genre preferred?

It's really preference ,me I almost ALWAYS USE pre sculpted 50 mm round from a place in UK called model display products .when I was looking to acquire another detail that folks would unmistakable know that it was from me. So if you look in my gallery almost all my single models, units ,etc are all on this. I just add things to the already sculpted mud/field detail already present. Go loo you'll see.if it's 28mm it's on these. I also looove round lipped bases ,round bases in general. I am always stoke about getting a new resin(not wood) as it cuts drills etc much cleaner. Just my two cents. Jarhead did say it's a matter of preference what you feel looks best and as long as the model don't take up the whole base ,or as long as the base doesn't swallow the mini your good. Some folks use ratios me I go by feel as there are times with a certain shape like odd geometric style bases t,where the ratios go out the window.

Always do mine from scratch, may buy a plain plinth to work on but making the rest of it is all part of the fun for me.

Cheers folks.

BAM, are your sci-fi bases (like on your Genestealer Cultists also premade scenic bases or did you make them yourself.

I'm specifically talking about bases geared to the tabletop wargamer. Gamesworkshop, Infinity, etc.

Coyote: thanks for the kind words. I've come to enjoy painting tartan.

BAM: thanks a lot. The bases are my own creation with the intent to put them into production. I'll cast them myself and distribute via Mollies Miniatures. I have a plan for a few different sets.
