Tried to remove the horns to see if it was better. Don't know if it fits the blitzer streamlined look or is too magneto. Also did some work on the first black orc. :D

Still don't know what helmet fits best for the blitzer or if I should use the "big" helmets for the black orcs. But decided to work on some of the other minis for the team. Still can't get myself to work on the linemen (dont know how I am going to differentiate them from the rest of the team - wanted them fat but then I will have to use old metal parts and I would like to keep it in plastic.)

Speaking about plastic. I found out that plastic glue is a pita to work with - I used it on my "off" player that is supposed to be a beserker (again a tribute to paintedbyg) but the conversion of the hand melted weird together and I kinda messed up the glueing of the arms. So now I do not know if I am going to use him).

Also worked on my star player/thrower with a simple grimgor conversion.

Did some work on the coaching staff. The main coach and the assistant. Might make the signpole shorter since I think it looks a bit wierd atm. But think they turned out okay.

Lol "too magneto". I like them with horns myself, but that's how i'm used to seeing them.

The coach and assistant will look great when you get them done. I would probably put the base of the pole even with the bottom of the base. It might make it look more even without chopping it shorter, plus give the model a bit more stability.

I tried that and it was better. But then I went on to make the goblin assistant derp coach and found out that the long pole was way to long for him so i redid the poles. Still don't know about the horns. Somehow I feel that it is reserved for the tanky up front black orcs and not the fast running blitzers.

Still not 100% on how the orcs hand is going to be but I really like the wooden texture on the new poles. Also struggeling ti decide if the goblin should have another sign in his left hand (seems like two tactic signs is too little and 3 would be plausible for an orc team).

Thanks for the indput - it means a lot to me.

Did some quick work and looked for the goblins head. Can't figure out if it should be "tryhard" or complete "derplin"

Input much appriciated!

Been a while since I posted something. Sometimes life takes up all your time :D
Hopefully I will get some time for my hobbies soon :D

One problem I have had has been that my citadel paints have been drying up under storage. Someone suggested transfering them to dropper bottles and I have been wanting to do that for some time now.
So here is an image of the first 6 colors transfered.

Will wait a bit and see if all is well and sound in those before transfering the next ones (had to add some medium to thin them a bit for transfer).

It has been a while but I have been backed up with work and study. I have decided that I am going to focus on improving my painting this year and have signed up for a few classes! Yay! Looking forward to those.

Since last I have moved and I now have a dedicated paintstation (with a really cool paint shelf - which I will show images of at a later point in time).

I have begun a few projects and continued a bit on some of my old ones. But I need to stop overthinking and being scared of doing something wrong - You improve one mistake at a time! So I need to allow myself to make mistakes! :D

Well the current projects is still the blood bowl team but I have added some diversion with a Shield Maiden bust and some other smaller projects.

So far the maiden has been prepped and looks like this! :D

Really looking forward to getting started on her! :D

I have also gotten myself a cheap cabinet:

And I am currently fiddeling with a smaller project of the amazing artemis sculpt by Hasslefree.
I am a bit stuck at composition and I am worried that the compositon on the base wont work (was thought to be a quick and easy base) so input on it is much appriciated!!!

What I am worried about with artemis is that the composition gives the wrong foucs. Somehow it seems like the focus will end up on the pillar and not the beautifull sculpt. Maybe I will need another base or do someone have suggestions?

I took the plunge and started on the maiden. It is my first bust and it is challengeing but I am learning a lot.
The scale 75 paints are really nicely matte but somewhat hard to control so there are a bunch of firsts for me here. But I have decided to not "fear" doing mistakes and so far it is going okay! yay! Think I still have a problem with a to low range in contrast but I am getting somewhere.

Here is the WIP:

Comments and tips most welcome.

Good start. I believe there are a couple other wips on this mini you may want to refer to for ideas (Maxxx's iirc).

Thanks for the tip. Always fun to see where others have gone with the mini you are working on.

Next step is finishing the hair and face (eyes, cheeks (more life aka blood flow there) and lips).

Worked a few hours on the hair today - I am a slow painter and had all kinds of problems with the paint drying on my palette (which is kinda unusual) and on the brush. I am painting with a W&N Size 3 atm and with it there are usually a lot of paint it in which keeps the tip from drying. But today something was just diffrent and the paint kept drying on me making it hard to work with. And just before stopping I just spashed a bit of paint on her cheek :(

Still I think I got somewhere. For some reason it looks better in real life than on photographs and I still need to wash the back and sides of the hair hence the diffrence in color.

I use a pump action spray (like a old perfume bottle) with tap water with a spot of washing up liqued in.
Just give it a light spray every now and again .

Sorry to spam my own post with wips but posting here kinda keeps me going. Have been having a blast the past few days with the maiden.

Started on the leather today and tried to follow the instructions from Painting Buddah. Ben Komets way of doing the leather takes a while but it is rather fun to see the color and fabric unfold as you add layer after layer. I still have to master how to apply it for the best highlight effect - but I think it is coming together quite nicely (please bear in mind that the leather is not finished and shows up a little wierd on my iphone images).

I also tried to take an image in natural light for reference later. The colours look a bit diffrent in natural light even though I use a daylight bulb.

I have been trying to get the leather better today. But it seems to become really glossy and look wierd. Ofc it looks easy when Ben Komets does it - but I have been trying to do excatly the same as the Painting Buddah Video. Anyone have any pointers and ideas what I might be doing wrong. Ben's looks way more matte and saturated.

What I am doing is "washing" the preshaded leather with softtone ink from Army Painter. And then gradually building it up with focus on the dark parts. Might be doing something wrong here :( (ps. I am not hairdrying it but I dont know what effect that might have)

Got a bunch done today. Worked on the darker leather and tried to refine the lighter one again.

The dark leather is really dark but somehow I still think it looks quite close to the lighter one. Still having problems with it ending up very shiny. (as you can see in the image lit by my worklamp/daylight bulb).

Pointers/encouragement/tips as always much appriciated.
