Best Painter in the WORLD - TWO week competition - ending the 26th!

Got a picture now. I\'m having some trouble though... the legs were both done using the same recipe and technique but one looks alot lighter than the other, I think it may be because there are less deep crevaces but I\'m not sure. I\'ll hold off trying to \'fix\' it till I get the rest done in case it is because its still not finished. Hope you like him so far :D

I would think that having less shadow on a leg with less deep grooves would be exactly what you want? Hmmm.

Time for me to go paint! I\'ve been stuck doing design work all morning. :(

Thanks Bill, I\'m using a bunch of new techniques for the flesh on both the ghast and corpse, I\'m really loving the results, I had no idea I had it in me.

@Pastoer: It makes \"logical\" sense that it would be lighter, but it just looks funny right now. It\'ll probably look better once I get the rest done.

Got one arm almost done, I\'ll post another pic by the end of the night with my progress so far.

P.s. Pastor did you see my idea about making it an anual event and passing the trophy on?

My mini is done! YAY! Freemason Templar Knight Priest is ready to go ! Gdamn I had a hard time getting him from the original base I had glued him to and to my custom base :p

I\'ll get a pic as soon as I can borrow my dads camera from his work :)

I\'m very satisfied with the result and alot of my original ideas changed during the course of creating the mini, which was a really cool feeling.

I tried 3 times to do NMM, but descided in the end that I like MM alot more, so I\'ve done SE-MM on him :D It looks pretty cool :)

Also, the robe was screaming for something, but I didn\'t want to ruin the smoothness of the mini with some big freehand, so instead I made a VERY subtle freehand of the Freemason symbol covering half the robes back, without it killing the purpose I had in mind to begin with :)

I really look forward to showing this piece off, so I\'ll get a hold of my dad tomorrow and hopefully get a great pic done before thursday!

@Emo: I think that doing this every 4-6 months would be awesome! But having the trophy as a wandering trophy I\'m not too fond off.. Rather, the winner should come up with a new trophy and prizes. I know if I win, I would like to keep my trophy, might just be me :p

You have a good point about the trophy, I just thought it\'d be kinda cool to have a trophy with your name on it going all over the world... But you\'re right, I\'d probably not want to send it off if I won it...

It would be great if this were to happen on a regular basis (I think the WIP nature and fun atmosphere make for a different kind of contest!) The trophy can be sent on or kept.. Maybe that should be up to the winner (either they can pass it on or come up with something new and improved?)

As I stated, I\'ll start a thread for finished submissions on Thursday. That way everyone can post their finished pieces in a semi-organized way.

Glad this is turning out so well, thank you all for participating.

How will the voting work? Do people just randomly submit who they vote for, or do people send you an email with their top 3 choices? Or...

Thank you for organizing this! I\'ve had alot of fun, painting a model that I usually wouldn\'t have taken up otherwise!

Here is how I\'m thinking the voting will work..

On Thursday morning I\'ll start the \"submissions thread.\" Everyone can post images of their finished work.

On Saturday morning I\'ll start the \"voting thread.\" I\'ll put all the finished pieces into one post with a voting \"pole\" at the top. Hopefully that will be a simple answer. Whoever has the most votes at 11:59 pm on Sunday night will be the winner.

All of these deadlines will be for my time zone (pacific.)

Does this work for everyone?

Sounds fine, pastor :) I brought my mini to a friend\'s house today, and we got photos, hooray! Unfortunately, the eMail to me did not work :( Hopefully at school tomorrow I can get him to eMail each photo seperately... :rolleyes: Wish me luck :D

I have just figured out the difference between Pacific (Wellington) and GMT, it is either 1 hour earlier or 13 hours later.... :duh:

Well mine is done, I have put it in my Gallery but I don\'t think it will go active until tomorrow sometime, I hope I have not broken any unwritten rules here. Happy with the finished result now it is just a case of waiting and seeing.

I am not intimidated by your entries! I am still proud of mine! I sorta just went with a lower road and did script. Almost done!. Just need to do his crozius and finish the text!

Pastor Prime, the thread title says 26th, I think this is Friday (though originally the deadline was Thursday, which has been mentioned a couple of times)
