change your background colour mate, it\'s to simular to the tones used in you mini.
that will help it stand out more.

if you can, use a glaze on your steel parts to change the tone. it\'s to simular to the skin tone you have used.

you would also be better using a front and back pick both at the same size as the first photo. the multiple shot pic is too small and could disuade voters as they can\'t see the mini all that well.

done a wee bit more, bit of a departure from my normal routine but I wanted to use the interference paint I bought the other week. Twit that I am I forgot to take a pic before I applied it
anyway here we go:

Interference Red over a Dark red fading to dark blue

same again but with a coat of Dullcoat, not sure which I prefer

same again here with the uppershoulder in Gold NMM

Ok here is the first WIP of the Ork I originally put this in the WIP thread about three or four days ago,

I had put about a day and a halfs work into it on and off

And these are the latest shots taken after two more days work again on and off,

I am not quite sure waht is going on with the orange glow on the rear of the pic some sort of light reflection, but as you can see the mini is nearing completion. I should have it done by tomorrow night Wednesday night at the latest.

Good work everybody! I hope no one gets discouraged by the quality of the WIP entries. You never know what \"the people\" will choose as their favorite.

I also think it\'s cool to have an open \"working\" competition like this were everyone can get feedback as they go along, very unusual.

Maybe I can dig up a few other prizes for other competitors who do interesting/fun pieces but don\'t claim the overall title...

I was going to try and paint something up for this as well, but I\'ve got some painting to do for PP and that will take priority. Oh well.

Great Idea

Ok, could we make this an anual or semi anual event? And each time the contest is hosted by the previous winner. They would provide prizes, and the trophy would move on to the next person. We could add little plaques to the trophy with the name year and country of the winner so we could keep track of where it has been and who has won. I think it would be great fun. Just wanted to throw the idea out there.

Ok I wasn\'t planning on entering but why not, it\'s all for fun.

Saturday 13th May I started a figure that been stood in my \"To do\" collection of primed pewter for (roughly) 2 years, Karandras the Eldar Phoenix lord.
I completed him (it) on Sunday 21st May.
I have two witnesses as to the start of the painting (Genarulpoleaxe and Mantis) and I\'ll post up a picture tonight.

I\'ve done him up rather dark and brooding, instead of Bright and shiney Space elves.

Done a little more to this guy today, and now I know that it will be done for the closing date. All that is left is the banner pole and the lower area of the base, and then a little tweak here and there. Here it is after some more work today, I have done the shoota and also the wristband and banding around the horns on the helmet. The finger nails I have also done.

So that is it for today\'s round of painting I\'ll finnish the bugger off tomorrow. At everyone else the work I have seen on here is great it is going to be a close run thing I think.
