[JMD] 'Buste Orque' (ork bust)

Greetings, beings! After painting Zenobe (220387) I have hopelessly fallen in love with JMD Miniatures. To get back to the painting table, I now finished the 'buste orkque' von JMD, a truly magnificent piece of sculpting... Some of the colors I used were: Skin: ==== Base Color: Vallejo Ivory Highlight: GW Skull White Shadows: GW Camo Green, GW Bestial Brown, GW Scorched Brown, Vallejo Dark Sea Blue Glazes: GW Lich Purple, GW Sunburst Yellow, GW Scab Red Leather: ====== Base color: GW Snakebite Leather Shadow: GW Scorched Brown Wash: GW Chestnut Ink (discontinued) Highlights: Speckles of Bleached Bone (thanks for Jeremié for this recipe!) Lips, eyes and poor sheep's tongue have received an application of GW gloss varnish ('ardcoat). Base: ==== I did not have a 'normal' bust base, so I just used something out of the ordinary: A ceratin base with a wall... Since the mini's back is completely boring, the curved wall adds at least a little to lock at and breaks the monotony ;) The base features ALL colors that I used in the mini as well, I tried to make it stand back, though, keeping it fairly dark. It is the first base I painted 95% with an airbrush. What else can I say? Ah, yes: Try some busts - it has been one of the more rewarding painting experiences for me :) Stay hoopy, Zaphod

Wow, it's really amazing what you are doing at the moment. I think the bust turned out really good my only suggestion would be: A little bit dark purple glazes at the shadows had given it more depth. But it looks already great like it is, keep it up :-)

Fantastic colours in the flesh! I love those pinkisj tones. Looks like great technique too - very smooth. Maybe some more photo angles/better pics might help the score :) It would let us appreciate your work more, in any case.
