The triumphal arrival of Jesus in Jerusalum wasn\'t a big deal to the vast Roman Empire. Then when the Jews rebelled against Rome much of their material culture was destroyed in retaliation, so any records of it would likely have been destroyed. The remaining word of mouth stories were passed down for nearly 100 years before being put to paper. No surprise when you are a secretive underground cult.

Actually, even prominent christian historians have only found one non-biblical mention of Christ by the historian Josephus, and due to obsfucations of the Greek language at that time, that reference is disputed. And while your \"underground cult\" theory would work, according to the other documents recorded at that time and references from the Bible, other, biblically-less significant people are directly mentioned by Jewish scholars and historians. If you\'re actually interested, there\'s a ton of information about it available. If your not, no biggie, I\'m not either.

The original question, should it be advertising on this site? Not what I\'d call a target audience for that sort of thing, but I guess it\'s ubiquitous and accessible enough that we, miniature painters, are discussing it. When we aren\'t distracted by Girl Scout Cookies.
