Oh for f***s sake not again!

That\'s becoming my standard initial response to most \'new\' forum postings these days. Don\'t people bother to read other threads?!

I like NMM and metallics! I\'m sure plenty of people are of the same persuasion. END OF ARGUMENT!

On the far more interesting subject of cake and pie, I really like puddings. Treacle sponge, jam sponge, jam roly poly, spotted dick (stop sniggering at the back!), apple crumble, chocolate sponge... all served with custard.

:bouncy:

My Mum makes these great deserts which are choclate mouse on the bottom, then this chesnut ice cream stuff, then a layer of chesnut puree, yummee.

Other than that I like choclate stuff, but I really think its a waste of good chocolate to dilute it with cake, so I tend to just go for the choclate and forget about the cake.

We need a yawn smiley!
Basically, this is an age old subject. There are many arseholes out there commenting on metallic painted minis and telling people to do NMM. Mind you that\'s not us.. I do metallics, because I think it looks better, and I think it doesn\'t fit on GW minis(which is the only brand I can get my hands on) after Rackham. And then proper NMM is just so damn hard.

But my mum beats all of your mums in pie baking. Dreampie, ummm.. soft chocolate cream on top, with meringue and cream below, followed by more soft chocolate cream in the middle. Then at last a soft, sponge like bottom :D

As I\'ve said before:

I hate beets.

I love pie, though. Like Errex...anything of the chocolate variety....

I like my plates washed. I like my donuts glazed. I like milk shakes well-blended. I like my cakes layered. I DO NOT like my chicken still feathered.

Upon cake and the meaning of life

erm, I like shiny things. NMM isn\'t shiny. So I eat cake.

I\'m more into pie than cake, but my wife and I are celebrating our first, and we got this WILD leftover cake from the wedding. Strawberry frosting on the inside, some orange sherbet frosting on the outside, and still tastes good after a year. Now THAT\'s a cake, huh?

Yep, I remember my first. My wife says, \"You have to eat the cake...it\'ll bring good fortune to the marriage.\"
I said, \"If you try and force me to eat that ass-nasty year old cake, I\'ll divorce you now.\"

You can\'t beat a good trifle though......
Mind you, isn\'t it just old cake with jelly and custard on it? (or should that be jello?)
My favourite pie has to be steak and ale......

Trifle

will this never cease!
I see we have the people in favour of real pies
and those who just have to drag any old desert into just because it\'s flavour of the month.

Mind you I\'ve just seen the new Limited edition
Rackham cheese cake mmmmmm....not technically true or a pie.

@Nelson and Supervike the apple pie must be not too sweet and the cheese should be strong (a good cheddar)

I hear ya. I\'m constantly stuffing food in my mouth, as in CONSTANTLY. I\'m eating a sandwich right now, and even as I eat, I\'m thinking about what my next victim will be. The only thing that keeps me alive is my teenage metabolism...when I get older, I\'m screwed. :D

What\'s with this scary tradition? My inlaws dragged the top of our cake across country in a motorhome so we could eat it at our anniversary. When the time came, I just couldn\'t bear the thought of eating some year old freezer burned cake. This tradition can\'t predate refrigeration, so I\'m calling it a made-up tradition and thinking the fortune of my marriage is unaffected either way. ;)

Weell, if you wanted to sacrifice a stylish wedding for a good marriage, you could just spring for ten ice cream cakes, and pile \'em up on top of each other. That way, when the anniversary thing comes along, it\'s no biggie to eat the ice cream.

I believe it\'s called \"more please\" cake.
