Why people do not like good metallics

No offence to any NMM painters out there but NMM cannot compare to metal in its qualities. I am finding stiff opposition and downright snubbed at by people when I do really good quality metallic paintjobs. For me the same exact techniques with washes, highlights and shading is done for metallic as all that time you spend trying to copy the way metal naturally reflects light. Can anyone clarify why there is so much opposition to painting with metallics other than \"metallics are hard to paint with\". My response is always \"Learn how to paint with it then\".

I for one refuse to take part in yet ANOTHER NMM/Metallics debate. I hope others will abstain courtiously from this.. But knowing you all, you\'ll just have to comment, even just for getting posts.

Cheese pie just isn\'t my thing. I\'m more into apple pie with cheese. Now that\'s good.

There have been tons of threads like this, and not one of them has gotten anywhere. Basically, I do like metals (GOOD metals, mind you) just as much as GOOD nmm. Metals are NOT harder to do than nmm, and most people know how to do metals long before they try nmm. Biggest problem I have with metals, and it\'s evidenced in your gallery, is that they can start to look messy. Oh well Blah blah blah boo boo hoo blah blah whatever.

Speaking of meringue, I had the best cake I\'ve ever had on my birthday. It was basically a huge pie shell of hard meringue, not the soft stuff, that was filled with whipped cream, chocolate, and lots of berries. There was a specific name for it, but I forget it at the moment.

Oh well. My thoughts on this have been made quite clear earlier.

BTW guys... Have any of you eaten marble cake? I\'m very good at making chocolate vanilla German marble cake.
MMMMmmmmm.

Oh but my favorite is a torte cake made with prune plums.
Super duper sweet and very fattening.
But it keeps you quite regular apparently.lol

Nah, I just decided to hijack this thread to something more useful.

I figure if a new poster was truly interested in the Metallics vs NMM debate on the highest profile figure painting website in the world, that they might look back through even the last few days of topics to see the same subject close at hand...

It\'s not like the last incarnation of the subject is buried and cold... ;)

Oh, Strawberry-Ruhbarb pie is pretty tasty too.

Cake!

Here\'s this cake that is kinda like a mousse on the top, but it\'s chocolate cake at the bottom. They call it Impossible Cake.

Also, Dark Chocolate Cake is great, with a serving of vanilla ice cream on the side.:D

I don\'t know about this nmm/metallics thingie, but pies.. I like blueberrypie, it\'s even good for your eyesight. US-fighterpilots take pills with somekinda blueberry chemical to keep their vision as clear and accurate as possible. So blueberry pie might work well for us minipainters because we are at danger of losing our eyesight:D
