Thanks for the replies guys!

Working on a castellan knight for funsies. First time using dry pigments, not sure if I hit the mark 100%, but really like the effect overall:

Still needs edge highlights and some detail work (red/yellow wires etc.), going to darken up the cannon tip as well

Honestly VIBS IN ALL MY EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND - I can and have painted almost anything from numerous companies. But when I see all you crazy Sonsabeezes painting these jugganaugjt size knights and warhlaives etc etc I just have to bow and tip my hat and worship the ground !!!

Getting the gold in on the piping will really help bring the colors together. Also going to dirt those plates up a bit to keep in line w/the feet & undercarriage.

There's a bit of speckling on the top plate that I'm not in love with, may try to clean it up a bit.

This is fantastic.. what apiece;) you know me and my background so I’m gonna give an idea for speckling -turn it into chips. It won’t be a lot and most of the time unless your me less is more;) maybe some rust streaks coming from a few of the nicks. Just an idea.

Been a hot minute and I've been away from the hobby. Had to move and give up most of my hobby space. Got the itch again though and trying to make due with what I've got. Figure it's a good chance to work on my brush work and transitions >shrug<.

Started with the belly on the Vex Machinator. Still doing TMM since I'm not sure I trust my small space transitions to have a go at NMM. I'll pick up some junk mini's to try it on sometime I'm sure. The blue transition reads fairly well in hand, but I'm wondering how dark people go? Further? Into Black?

Thanks Coyote! I probably should've started with something a bit less ambitious - haven't touched a brush in a bit.

Did a bit of basing tonight for the spider. Might add some red to the cracked bits since it's a bit monotone. The puddle's a bit over the top, but bugger it, I like it

Wow, that puddle is awesome!
How did you achieve the effect? Is it acrylic streaked into the resin?

Hey thanks Gorb! Yeah the puddle is vallejo water texture with streaks of GW's nurgle's rot (which i think is just some yellow paint in gloss varnish), but i suspect any paint would do the trick. I just got a few drops suspended in the water and pulled them around a bit with a pin.

That base is just looking awesome - I like the puddle, fits to a spider. Looking forward to see the beast connected to this base.
Maybe you wanna add some "web" pieces to round this up?

really nice work so far and that base does look pretty cool (especially that puddle and effect you have going on in it)!

I was a bit down about the hobby for a stretch. Just seemed like I was in a cycle of get excited, start, make progress, mess up, try to fix it, fail, and end up frustrated. Just kinda felt like I wasn't making much progress for the effort and set the paints aside for a bit. Have to let go of some of that I suppose. With the pseudo quarantine in effect I figured I'd dust of the paints and have a go.

Scribbled this gal up in 2 sessions and it turned out okay. The flesh is a bit mottled, but the honeycomb turned out pretty good. Going to finish the base up tonight.

Going to give her away too. Probably going to start doing that with my paint jobs or maybe people want to swap painted for unpainted. W/e not worried about that much. I don't play and once I'm done they just kinda collect dust. So if you need a Hamadreth LMK. Love this site & community so I figured I'd offer here first.
