Thank you VERY much...:)...

Edit: This was not in the Duel Category, right...?... It was Diorama... (the size is above 50 x 50 mm...)...

The scene looks so empty... very vast space in between them...

There is no Duel category in North America anymore Matt so yes it was in diorama. I spoke shortly with the author of the piece and he is quite aware of the empty space. Initially there was suppose to be a lot more of tyranids coming at the SM and ammo crates lying around as well... but lack of time...

Otherwise let me tell you that the level of painting on the 2 miniatures alone was probably enough to convince the judges!

Heja Mathieu...:)... I hope you did GREAT in Toronto...

http://www.spanish-team.com/foro/viewtopic.php?t=11376

There is another angle from the Slayer Sword Winner...

I did not ment to sound offensive... Surely the Miniatures are painted GREAT... No doubt... You can see it in the other Pic in the Spanish Forum... Still, the first thing I see is a problem with the composition and -obviously- a problem with the space... the 2 Small Miniatures seem totally lost in this big hall... Density would help to make it more dynamic, more condensated...

I am not a friend of Time, so I can 100% understand that it was tough to finish it the way it was planned... I would love to know how many hours he has spend on doing it...

Regardless this, Congratulations for the Winner...:)... I am sure he was extremely happy and you all had a great day...:)...

Congratulations for Julien... Close one...;)...

Great job to all the winners the technical level this year was great, mathieu i really think your juggernaut should have one the slayer sword;) loving khorne has nothing to do with it hehe,

hey ansel its paul for the note, you did really well dont forget :D though you will do even better next time

Congrats to all those who entered, and a big handshake for all who scored a trophy!

I had a great time meeting and chatting with everyone I could, that was definetly worth sneaking out of work for 24hours. The award ceremony was dissapointing as it was delayed by 20-30mins and by then 3/4 of the people in the hall had packed and left the building. Nevertheless some great entries from great people, and I thought the judging was handled very professionally, judges concerting under proper lighting to discuss at length the entries. Felt like the entries all got their time under the spotlight.

A quick note for Akaranseth, in your blog there is a slight inaccuracy, our new Slayer friend told me it was not his first Golden Demon, he entered last year in a few categories but did not win anything. What an improvement in a year then!

hmmm I\'m agreeing with Matt on the slayer sword.. too much space for me personally that said however no doubting the paint quality and kudos on a big jump up from last year so congrats as always to the winner...

Akaranseth hope to meet you at UKGD love your work . The khorne rider is cool working on something similar with a damemon rider currently that may make a showing at UKGD ..
congrats all from what I have seen so far the strongest tornonto GD yet.

yeah team montreal came and they had some really nice pcies and then there were a group of like 18-20 year old kids who just started entering demon that won a bunch too. including the slayersword. meby this means there will be a team toronto now! a little yearly competition now \"eh\" ? :D

just had to say \"eh\" lol

There was a team Toronto, but they somewhat dissapeared in the fog... Team Montreal welcomes and encourages friendly competition/cooperation :)

I think I might have been a part of that \"18-20\" year old group mentioned above lol

I won gold in fantasy single with my twilit skeleton from a while back, did some touch ups before entering it but nothing drastically different from whats in my gallery. I think it caused a bit of debate from some of the crowd when it was placed in the winners cabinet, only the front was really visible...

Victor Lu won silver in that category with a night goblin champ (two swords big hood), and Dan Byers won bronze with his old school dwarf crossbow.

I also won silver in LOTR single with a dead marshes spectre, NOT the one in my gallery, I\'ll try to get a decent picture up later today. Arnold won gold in that category with a celebron model (not sure, some elf character), and Victor won bronze with another elf character whose name escapes me was well...

I didn\'t get any good pictures, my camera really didn\'t like the display cases...

Congrats to everyone who won or even entered. It was my first year there but it really looked like a solid effort from everyone.

And lastly a little should out to Ian, didn\'t manage to place in any of the categories, but made earned four finalist pins (even though they only gave him one) and at least one honorable mention.

yup, and i got 4th/honorable mention in both those categories. it was nice meeting you im sorry if i came off strong when i was taking about your skeleton but i did like the scepter alot. very original. i was fed up because i knew the judges were both ways about placing me both times and by the second time that they pushed me out to 4th the emotions got the best of me. but over all the whole day was awesome and i learned alot just from seeing some of those awsome models. and as Zach (crocked eye) told me it was improtant to lose so you can get better. i agree. and thats just what im gonna do. :) ill be back for more next year even if it isent toronto :bouncy:

Don\'t worry about it, I never actually heard anything said about the skeleton, but I could tell just from reactions that it was a bit of a controversy. I completely understand. Which entries were yours? LOTR had a surprising amount of really high quality entries in it.

Yeah I remember chatting with you in the lounge when I first got there. I remember your fantasy entry, it was one of the first ones to catch my eye when I was looking through them. Very nice work on it, have you got any pictures? There were quite a few entries in fantasy and I have to admit I didn\'t take a lot of time to look at them thoroughly. I can\'t say for sure if I know which entry was yours in LOTR, there were quite a few of the same elf characters, but I think I know which one was yours. LOTR had some really nice entries in it, with a good handful of models that all seriously deserved to place.

This event should help get the team officially off the ground... as Vincent said, it did disappear into the fog. Now, things may be different.

Anyhow, I should say the whole team this year who attended were Andrew Wigg (Legacy 40k), John Ho (Hoju)(he won the award for armies on parade and the art contest, no demon entries this year), Victor Lu (SilAx)(I\'m fairly sure he won three demons this year in LoTR, WH Single, and possibly Open?), Arnold Kovacs (Malleus)(Slayer and demon in Diorama, demons in LoTR, WH Large, Large Model, and possibly another category.. I lost track after that!), our honourary new member from Edmonton, Robin Langer (sp?) (emopainterguy) (demons in WH Single and LoTR), Kristin Livingston (DrDoom)(Honourable mention in Wh Large and first cut in 40k Monster) and myself (2 or 3 honourable mentions). Good turnout! I think we were all really happy with the end results for the most part. The team of judges was much more trustworthy and effective than last years two judge team.
