Erhm.. it\'s in the rules. Canada\'s a huge country, so there are regional contests and the winner\'s models get sent to the Games Day in Toronto.

Could you provide a link to that please? Reason I\'m asking is because the quote I gave is lifted directly from the rules page for Golden Demon on the Canadian GW page.

Thanks

Wish I could be there. Friend\'s got a wedding that day though :( I\'ll be entering a mini or two in Regional Qualifiers this weekend, and I\'m quite confident they\'ll win and get brought down for me.

You might want to check the \"Guidelines for entry\" as the first line of it states:

\"All entries must be personally handed in by their creator and registered at Games Day on the day. We will not accept any entries on behalf of competitors who are not in attendance at the event\"

That\'s the whole thing... if it is official it would be nice from GW to advertise it and make it official. Not just some random thing in some store in some areas of the country...

Otherwise I\'ll be there. Giving 2 seminars, one on weathering vehicules using oil paint and pigments and another one on blending and Q&A and I\'ll spend all the rest of the day at the lounge working on my entry for Chicago...

What time are you going to teach about weathering with oils. It is something that has always intimidated me (of course, I was afraid of my airbrush for a year as well)

I\'d love to sit in on that, I\'ve got so many armor kits I\'ve worked on :)

I looked on the official site for a link and nothing came up, however I assure you that GW store managers take the winners to Golden Demon (proof could be Jericho\'s bronze winner, which may be seen in his gallery, from the 2007 GD Toronto, which he did not attend personally). I\'m sorry I can\'t provide an actual link!

Golden Demon \"Warmups\" have taken place the last couple of years, and Ward (new Regional Manager for western Canada) is taking down the winners from his store. I don\'t know if it\'s an event taking place in every store this year, there have been far too many changes at the national level in recent months (the death of Canadian HQ). It has been approved by all the necessary folks.

... Which isn\'t to say I expect to win anything this year. I didn\'t want to rush Helgar, one of my all-time favorite models, so I just finished up one of the rank and file classic dwarfs from my next army. Cool but probably not GD-worthy :D

Arnold Kovacs won the sword with his marine vs. nid diorama. I have no doubt that someone will have pics up tonight. Awesome showing overall.

Seem to be a lot of duels winning swords at the moment, which is by no means a bad thing..

Having seen conrads today I cant wait to see how that turns out.. :)

i loved this duel, the giant painted by julian casses was a bit better painted but the duel was at such a high lvl they were really neck and neck.
