I like the Mage from Darksword. If you go with Malek get the metal version. I just did the Bones version and the cast was atrocious.

Oh most definitely! I hate the material they use for bones miniatures... but I get why they do it.. those models are for gamers, not display painters.

I like the Mage as well. To me it seems to fit the base you are creating much more, a mage making the ground hover to create distance from the enemy to cast their spells. The other minis give me more of a melee feel, so I wouldn't think they would make the ground rise into the area.

thanks for the feedback :)

I think I'm gonna go with the Darksword mage or the AoS guy..after some conversions! :D

You guys think my ork psyker kitbash would look good on the floating base? I'm gonna say probably not... unless the floaty stuff was more sci-fi.... hmmmm.... ideas, ideas...

On a side note.. I started casting my own resin plinths/bases... can't seem to ever find these from US vendors... once I get the process perfected, I might start selling them myself!

Been working on clearing up my shop space, and that means getting really old projects done... like this big root tree... really happy with how it turned out! Much more work needed, but at least now my vise can be used again after holding this thing for over a year LOL

Oh, I like where this is going! Well done! Is some of that wire? Some looks like real branch?

Thanks :) It's actually all roots! I attached all the smaller roots individually to the thick pieces of root. Not sure what diorama I'm gonna use it in, but just needed to get it done lol.

The base building continues!! At first this base was going to be for a model with a static pose, but then I added the arrows in the ground, which suggested active combat. Then I found this model I had shooting a bow, and it changed the entire piece. He's basically returning fire. More work to be done, but it feels like the base is missing something.

The base looks awesome, and I love the model you have there. Maybe a wounded person, or a civilian behind him? Give him a reason to be standing out there engaging targets? Just a thought, but as usual beautiful work!

Does anyone know of a 54mm scale fantasy mini that looks like an adventurer? preferably human, warrior/paladin type class, static pose, with a weapon on the ground, or over the shoulder. I want to make it look like he or she is walking around/surveying a town's market place. Thanks!

Already checked Scibor, andrea miniatures, and FeR.

If there's a 3D print STL, that'd be cool too!

Glad you're still at it mate. That base looks really dynamic, I can see some bounty hunter leaping from it :)
